How often do you give your unit the day off?

How often do you give your unit the day off?

I do my PE routine Tues, Thurs, Sat and it works great for me. Today (Tuesday), however, I just didn’t feel like doing it. So, I didn’t. I’ve decided to call it my ‘dick’s day off’. This being said, how often do some of you out there give your dick the day off? Or, week off, for that matter?

Fairly seldom, but that is now. As I was working my way through the - Modified newbie routine , I took rest days by the book. Since then, part of when I take rest days has to do with listening to my body and how it’s reacting to my sessions, and part is enforced by time available. So, rest days happen, one way or another, and I do believe that rest days are a good thing.

When I was PE’ing steady, my routine was 3 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 1 day off. I would do that for 3 weeks and then take a week off. I found the time off were good for not only gains, but to give myself a mental rest as the routines would suffer towards the end of the 3 week period.

Now I just PE 2 or 3 times a week, with a couple of days off in between and that’s only if I remember to do it.

I play them by ear and take them when I feel I need them. When I’m in my zone I’m probably going almost every day.

Yeah..the longer I PE the more I am sure that each of us needs to find own ‘balance’. Some can PE everyday and find breaks as unnecessary and some need to take breaks more often.

After three months of pumping(Mon,Wed,Fri-rest free) I decided to have a break…it is a week since I last pumped or did any PE and I get morning wood every day….I did not have that during PE period. So longer breaks in my situation are good…may not be good for others.

Find your own ‘rhythm’(find cycles build/rest) and go with it if it works.

My last routine schedule was based on a 5 days on/2 days off (Mon-Tue-Wed on w/Thur off and then Fri-Sat on w/Sun off).

However, I have learned to pay attention to how my body is reacting/feeling and make changes accordingly. At present, by body says it needs a rest.

So, I’m on a 2 week rest period, or maybe more, depending. I had earlier reached a plateau, and so thought it best to stop for awhile and then return with a new routine (which I haven’t decided on as yet).


Started 4/9/07: Bpel 4.438 Eg 3.750 - Fl 3.750 Fg 3.500

Now 07/08/09: Bpel 5.625 Eg 5.875 Fl 4.625 Fg 5.813....Goal: Bpel 7.500 Eg 6.500 - Fl 5.500 Fg 6.000

I listen to my dick and stop PE-ing when I get fatigued. I am doing something to my dick everyday. I have read alot on this forum, from Bib to Big-Girtha, avocet8, Peforeal,Dino9x7 and many others and have gathered a lot of info. I have taken a little from each but more from Big Girtha, I firmly believe in his do not let it turtle..ever theory. There are also other things that I have read of his that I also agree with, so I am ALWAYS doing something. If my dick ever told me he needed a break I would listen.

Sadly, penises don’t speak, so it may take a while before you hear a plea for rest from your little buddy ;]

I usually follow a pattern of 2 days on/1 day off, as it has worked for me so far. Lately I sometimes even prefer to go 1on/1off, because I feel that I’ve been doing intense sessions and some quite voice from inside has been telling me that I should give it a rest. I personally think giving many rest days is absolutely vital, even with my limited experience.

I just can’t imagine how there are guys that go for 4,5,6 days without a resting day. I think my penis would just swell and implode with such a marathon, but you never know! If such routines work for people, then I am glad for them though.

I wonder which ones produce more gain - the routines with a lot of rest days or vice versa? Does anyone have an opinion or experience concerning this?

Like I mentioned before, I’ve been doing a Tues, Thurs, Sat routine and it has been doing great for me so far. I just decided to take today off, mostly because I didn’t feel like doing it. I seriously doubt I lost any head way. In fact, it might even go to furthering my gains.

Hardly ever. IMO I will not gain if I dont work, so that means working whenver I have to (5on 2off). But as I am on vacation, it is VERY hard to PE. I actually had to cut out my length work. So I am slacking off a bit now. When I get back though no days off again.

It depends on your routine. If the routine is intense, then constant pounding will give you some I think. If the routine is veryveryvery intense then a lot of rest days rould be good. Let your dick tell you when you should work. <-Do as said not as done.

Actually, they do speak. It’s a matter of learning to listen and understand to their method of communicating.
