Heat & Sperm Count

Heat & Sperm Count

Hello,

I am sure someone must have discussed this in detail in the heat threads, but I haven’t came across the posts. Someone (maybe sparkyx) told me that the effects of heat on lowering sperm count were only temporary.

Is this true? Otherwise, some of the infrared use may have very serious effects over time. Can anyone link past posts that have some sort of medical information to confirm that the effects are temporary?

I haven’t got a clue. But just to be safe, if I personally ever wanted children someday, (which actually I personally never would and would actually spring for a vasectomy), I’d avoid the infrared lamp, you know, just to be safe. I’ve only used microwaved rice socks, but I’ve heard of the hot water bottle steam/sauna technique for warming up. Basically you just fill a small part of a water bottle with hot water and hang your penis inside of it and let the hot steam warm you up. Sounds brilliant. But sorry, haven’t got a clue what infrared lights aimed at penises do over the long-term.

Thank you, sunshinekid. I’ve read those threads before but did not find anyone referring to any medical literature on the topic (one would expect this would have been research, right?).

Surely taking a bath would kill sperm if this was a problem right?

Lol your not baking your nuts under the lamp and you can always put a cloth on it to keep them cool. How about people that live in the desert.. Or bathers laying out on the beach.. Especially if it’s a nude beach.. Or a hot tub! But if your really worried about it but still want to use IR light, go to a sperm bank and make a few deposits for your benefit ;)

There’s an article on one of the old threads here about laptops on laps. Apparently it is possible (I missed this article originally).

Firegoat’s white napkin on the testicle area is a great way to minimize this.

Yes, if you are male lol do nut keep your laptop in your lap. If you must use it in your lap try pushing it farther back towards your knees so it is not right under the computer. Supposedly an increase of just 1-2 degrees in the nuts if they cannot cool themselves off to proper temperature can cause a man to go sterile! Yikes!
