Hard Gainers Cheer Up!

I have a theory that the harder gains are for you to achieve, the more permanent they probably are (i.e., easier to cement).

I have observed this with myself and have several theories about it (too tired to expound on them in detail at the moment). But my PE has been pitifully erratic the past few months (due to family/work situations), and I’ve lost virtually nothing, since levelling off at 7.5 x 6.1+. I bet I could never PE again for years and still lose nothing.

Just remember to keep working until you find your threshold. Also, I believe you can never stretch too much (after your initial break-in period, as a newbie, of course). Just don’t overdo the impaction exercises (jelqs, ulis, holds, etc.).

Interesting theory Mr Wad, than I have nothing to worry about if it’s true

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

Why don’t you think you need time to heal from stretching as well, Wad?

One foot down...one to go

I find that gains are not coming as easy as they did when I was younger (early 20’s) so I hope that your theory is correct :)

BTW Congrats Wad on hitting post 1000! ;)

soflsun,

I just don’t believe that stretching puts quite the same trauma on the tissues as does high-pressure impaction exercises. Also, consider how long traction is generally used in the medical community. Most successful hangers do it for hours per day, those small traction devices (PM, etc.) are to be worn for 10-12 hours per day, etc. And those people getting traction done on their legs, back, etc. are usually under constant tractile forces.

I realize the penis is a lot different than a leg; but face it, how much time does the average PE’er really put into stretching each day? And, I’ve read a number of interesting posts about plasticity/elasticity - suggesting that when the penis heals in the retracted state, much of your length “gains” are probably lost - to a degree. I believe that to cause significant deformation to occur (i.e., more than 1.5-2”), a great deal of time stretching has to be undergone - the more the better. And a post-workout wrap, ring, ADS, etc. is probably a smart finishing touch.

Wad,

I am a hard gainer, and I have found gains very difficult to cement. I almost always lose a new gain, but get it back later. I also find that I can handle a lot of weight the day after an intense hanging session. Perhaps my body is efficient at healing the ‘damage’ done by PE. This is why I more or less PE every day.

As for the time under tension thing, you are correct. ADS and similar methods have been a mainstay in the PE community, and rightly so.
