Usually after a tough girth session I would get a donut or soreness. But as a track athlete I was curious the benefits of varying intensity levels.

So I now pick an exercise. Say, jelq for five minutes the intensity is as follows( 1-10 scale)..

1min 4 prepares for next level..
2min 6 further prepares..
3min 8 further..
4min 10 you get FULL expansion now from all the preperation, rather than 3 min prior of 100% intensity!!
5min 4 This prepares for your next exercise.

I have noticed I can’t keep the intensity up through the whole workout without ill effects. Now, doing this, I actually can have longer time at high intensity without the donut and soreness.

Try it. It can be applied to any exercise. You WILL reap the benefits!

tae_lord, thanks for the experience. Is the jelqing the first exercise you do, so you warm up with it? I am following a program from someone in the forum, starting with stretching, and alternating stretching, jelqs and pumping.

I’ve been at this (PE) a long time. But I don’t think I understand your program at all.

Can you be more specific? Like, what does this mean?

He jelqs at increasing intensities until reaching highest intensity, then eases down. Makes good sense to me :up:

The “6” and “8” represent degrees of intensity.

This is a good discussion topic IMO. A big problem with replicating the success of good gainers is knowing what the hell they are talking about. For example, what is an intense stretch (nobody ever defines or even mentions)? What constitutes an “intense” jelqing session and how is it different from a “light” one? Every instructional video I’ve seen has shown guys jelqing in completely different fashions. Now, a scale of 1-10 is still fairly arbitrary and non-specific, but its better than nothing. I know there is a lot of mention of “feeling”, but it’s difficult to relate to sometimes for me.

What do you mean by intensity, jelqing speed,grip tightening, stretching further?

I do the same when pumping. It seems to help me attain higher (lower?) pressures for longer without side effects.

I do this too in my workouts. I don’t end a workout with a low intensity but a high one.

Intensity.. Like the actual force pushing outwardly against your chambers.

10-you couldn’t produce anymore force.

Okish6er, I agree, I end with high intensity and then pump for about 15 min and clamp to hold the stretch for a couple of hours.
