I’ve wondered if there was something bugging me for a long time. A blood test four years ago revealed a slightly eleveated white blood count, but I never could afford to pursue it.

I think they gave me nicorette doctors instead. My kidneys and whole system were so flushed out that there are no toxins left. Take a drag off a cigarette and it’s like the first one you ever smoked… I could feel the toxins rushing around my blood and even going into the brain with the sickening/dizziness thing, really weird experience. They took all my venom away! I may have even lost all my supernatural powers of sarcasm, and there’s no crystals of kryptonite to be seen anywhere! AHH! :D

Oh yeah, a real tuff-guy. You should see the claw marks I left all over the bed rails and the bathroom walls, door, etcetera trying to get the urine to flow again, and bowel movements to move again. You don’t realize what a privilege it is just to be able to piss until you lose the ability to do so. They will probably send me a remodeling bill in addition to the medical bill.

One fortunate thing which I didn’t find out ‘till later, is that it’s a teaching hospital, part of the university (UT) in Austin. If I get real lucky, I might get a break since I’m a student at another uni 30 miles away. I still need to work that out with their business department or whatever… sometimes they have funds available for such things, maybe a discount but who knows at this point.

They tried the guilt trip thing. “Well here’s a qualified doctor telling you it’s appendicitis and it can kill you if you don’t deal with it!” I just looked at him and said “of course if I’m dead, then all my troubles would be over with, wouldn’t they?” I look at both sides of things… It didn’t much matter to me at the time. It’s a good argument for people who scare easily, but my life has not been “a bowl of cherries” so both opitions seemed equally viable to me. No emotions. I’ve stared death in the eyes before, and it just doesn’t scare me like it used to. It isn’t any fun, but it just doesn’t “get my goat” anymore either. I told them: “If I’m going to be saddled with some huge stressful bill to pay, then just fuck it. I refuse to have that kind of stress put on me, because I know it will just cause problems later on anyway. Why go through that, just to end up in the same place again, down the road?” So they know my position on it, we will see what happens. If the process of getting me better is going to make the rest of my life hell, then it isn’t really doing me any good, is it?

I need to get some paperwork together and take in to them later on, from there they check to see if the state or anywhere has any funds for stuff like this and we will see I guess.

On a side note, I just gotta say again that I’m still being surprised by the friendliness of Texans and the common sense everyone has here. People here are really cool, not like the “psycho-bitchy office temp” personality types I’ve often met in big cities. Or maybe I’m just starting to move in better circles, now. I shoulda been born here… :)

Yeah, you can get either a “gel”, which you rub on and let it dry/set, or, you can get patches/stickers type ones, which you just attach to the scar.

I think you’re supposed to use them at least 6-8 weeks to see results.

I’ve been meaning to pick some up to attempt to reduce my scarring, but so far I havent seen any around :(

Sounds like a damn tough time for ya bro (to put it mildly) so just take it easy ya hear? :)

I wish you get well soon. And thanks for helping me build a great suck-&-release pump with the thread about making a home made pump. It’s a really fun toy!

What a nightmare for you electron, I keep forgetting that you have to pay for medical treatment in the States, which is even more to worry about on top of everything else.

I am so glad to hear that you have such good friends there in Texas, especially now when you need them the most, friends who are showing how much they care in so many different ways, but always remember that you have many more, who would help if they could, all over the world.

Now then, what can I put in so you’ll know this isn’t some spam thingy or other, or a message from Tit, when it’s really a little message from me, because looking at it now as a whole, as I just did, it does look little I must say and it also looks a bit too airy fairy to be coming from me, not to mention short and since I don’t tend to do short either as a rule, you might think this is from some idiot you don’t know, as opposed to one you do.

I know, I’ll stick in a little smiley which will fill it out a bit more and give it a bit of a lift at the same time.
Hmmn, which one should I send I wonder? I know, eenie, meanie, minie, mo………. there you go :spam:

I’ve been busting to use that one for ages :gulp:
