Gain Master PE Software Release!!!

Hey Iguana,

I located that file you were talking about, and I can SEE it. However when I right click on it, I don’t see any “security” things to look at, like you said there would be. Perhaps the ‘security’ thing you talk about is something of another OS, such as vista?

I attached a screen to show you what I see.

I also didn’t see any security related options when I click on properties either.

Now: (August 20 2007) 6.6" BPEL x 4.81" EG. Half way towards my goal! | Current Stats

Short term goal: (3-4 months) 6.8" BPEL, 5.0" EG.. Long term goal (1+ yr): 7.5" BPEL, 5.5" EG.

Nick, sorry, I should have explained better. First, click on properties and then security.
Here are some screen shots to follow: Follow them in order, mso1, mso2 and mso3.
If the option is already selected. Unselect it. Close out of the box, open and reselect it.
If this doesn’t work, proceed with the next option.

Good Luck!

As I said, I already tried having a snoop around properties (I am atleast a LITTLE bit computer literate :) ), but I couldn’t see any security related tabs.

I attached to pic to show what I see.

Ideas?

If you have no answer for this, can you please explain how to remove microsoft access 2003 without removing all of microsoft office?

Sorry for asking so many questions, and thanks again!

Nick, it looks like your file system may be formatted FAT instead of NTFS. If so, you will have no security tab and the
inherit permissions issue will not apply.

So, to remove MS Access 2003 without uninstalling Office:

1. Go to Control Panel Add or Remove Programs
2. Click on Change or Remove Programs icon in the top left corner.
3. Select MS Office 2003 from the menu
3. Click on Change
5. Click on Add or Remove Features
6. MS Office will show up with a list of programs under it (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc)
7. Select Access by clicking on the drive icon and choose “Not Available”
8. Click “Update” button.

This might not work. You might have to uninstall the entire Office Suite and then reinstall it after installing Gain Master.
Let me know.

Thanks guys! I’m really glad you like the software. I thought it was the least I could do to say thanks.
Thunder is quite the guy to provide this site for free. I wanted to do something in the same spirit to show my appreciation.
I don’t think there is a price on the value of what I have received from this site. You guys keep me motivated, inspired and determined
to make my goal a reality and not a dream. I hope the software benefits you in the same way Thunders Place has benefited me.
If you need any help with the installation or usage don’t hesitate to ask.

Any possible translations for mac users?

Removing Access did to make GainMaster work. Ouch.

Also, I can’t remove the office suite, as I don’t have the disc to reinstall it.

Heartbroken! :( Any ideas?

*DIDN’T!

Man, what an unfortunate typo. Removing Access DIDN’T make GainMaster work. :D

I’m sorry to triple post again, but I just can’t seem to get it to work!

I’ve tried:
- That security tab thing. No dice.
- Removing access. No dice
- And just then, I removed MS office and gainmaster, then installed gainmaster (but no office, I don’t have it on disk), and it STILL didn’t work.

So now I’m without both gainmaster AND office, haha. :D

What can we do now, Iguana?

Nick, I’m very sorry you are having issues with the installation and I hate to hear you don’t have install disks for Office.
Did it come with your PC?

I was skeptical that uninstalling alone would work because of all the files and registry entries Office leaves behind.

I think this solution might work for you.

1) Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove everything associated with MS Office. Reboot.

2) Download MS Office 2000/2003 Resource Kits. They are available on Microsoft’s website:
http://www.micr osoft.com/downl … &displaylang=en

3) Run the 2003 Resource Kit. Use the Removal Wizard. Tell it to delete ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS of MS Office. It will delete a list of files.

4) Next you need to manually delete the files that are still left behind. Delete these folders -

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE11 (or "OFFICE")
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE

5. Reboot and try to run Gain Master

Let me know what happens.

It didn’t work. :' Waaaah!

I wasn’t quite sure on this step.

I’d already uninstalled MS office yesterday, so I skipped this step. Is there anything else that I was supposed to uninstall? I couldn’t see any. But I didn’t look for anything that didnt’ start with ‘M’. Was I supposed to uninstall runtime aswell?

Here’s what I did:

1) downloaded and installed resource kits from that link
2) ran removal wizard, and chose the option you said
3) ran gainmaster without rebooting (it didn’t work)
4) rebooted then ran gainmaster. It didn’t work again.
