I have a 1” difference from bp to nbp because I have a huge fat pad, how can I reduce this?

Me too. Best way to reduce it is simply exercising. Burning off more calories than you are eating.

mine isn’t an 1” difference but it’s a good 1/2-3/4” and I would like nothing more than it to go away. Trying but need to try harder…

Alcohol = NO.

I’ve had a night-cap for the past four nights. Despite keeping my overall caloric intake down and exercising, I gained some of my lost weight back.

I went from 201 to 196 over 18 days. I’m now at 198 for four days now, despite taking in less than 1500 calories (not counting alcohol). The only thing different is the alcohol.

So, no more for me - until I get down to my target weight. I knew it might have an effect, but geez! You might as well not bother trying to diet/exercise if you’re going to consume alcohol. I suppose those who do really long and intense workouts could lose and drink, but for those of us getting ourselves conditioned it’s a big, big NO.

Don’t forget that alcohol is a stimulant. So taking a glass in the day is not going to hurt. Taking it before bed, should have the opposite effects.

Correction: alcohol is a depressant. It also inhibits the bodies ability to burn fat and build muscle. It also lowers testosterone and increases estrogen.

Alcohol is good for the heart and veins. Especially red wine contains decent amounts of flavonoids (or something like that) that also are good for you.

I have about a 1” fat-pad as well. However, I am a thin person and I exercise (weight lifting and mild cardio) four times a week. I weigh 170lbs and am 6’ in height. How I have this thick layer of fat in that particular area, I have no clue. I’ve started doing a lot of leg lifts to work the lower abs lately. I’ll see if that has any effect.

Also avoid eating before sleep.

Honestly if you want to lose weight, this is what I do every couple of years for a few months (if only I wouldn’t re-gain the weight)

Stop drinking alcohol, completely
No coffee
Little to no sugar / sugary items - chocolate etc.
Reduce meal size by at least 30%
Drink at least 2 litres of water a day.
Reduce meat intake

Excercise optional, definately helps (even just walking more)

I lost 45lb in about 4 months doing this (and due to being an idiot, quite literally gained 35lb of it back in about 4 months!)
