Im not sure about this. I also use a regular lamp (NIR) for warmup. I see that it has a good effect on my member, because after a while there is this spongy feeling when I can pull further and get this rubber band effect.
But still Im not completely satisfied.
The reason for this is, that my penis is not heated totally, although I do a 10 min wamup with my 300W lamp. And its not about the lamp itself, because I can feel that for example the bottom of my pecker is kind of cold directly after the warmup. I cant imagine that this would be the case with an FIR lamp.

@paul:

For my part Im convinced that its definetly better to cool down than warm down or doing nothing.

joe2, I’m getting heat fully through the unit, and even much of the inner pelvis and lower abdomen as well. I’m also leaving it on for longer than 10 minutes though (leaving it on throughout the workout) and using a mildly reflective parabolic shaped clamp lamp to help direct more of the heat in the right direction.

Will give it a try ! Thank you joe2

Be careful you don’t raise your core temperature too much if you are heating a large area. Heat-stroke is a real possibility. (I’ve been there :) )

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I’ll keep that in mind. It is quite powerful, even on a freezing autumn night here, it makes my apartment feel tropical.

The light that does help (but not even close to chemical means) comes from laser light in wavelengths greater than 650nm.

I remember a TP’er saying he placed some cloth or something over his inner thighs, lower ab area to block out some of the IR rays/heat; to keep the effect mainly on his unit. Maybe it was aluminum foil he used to cover the other body areas that he didn’t want heated. Can’t remember which.

Yes, that was me. I suggested using white paper towels as they reflect heat away. If you just pull the waistband of your underpants down to below your shaft and tuck them into the waist-band of your underpants so they hang down, they protect your testicles a good bit. They also come in handy for cleaning up lube etc. from jelqing. Ideally set the light up so it only heats no higher than the area just above your shaft (suspensory ligs). A light coloured t shirt can protect any areas higher up if necessary. Foil would get very hot, very quickly! :eek:

what wavelengths specifically? All the led drivers are cheap as chips. i’m sure a diy solution is really easy to do.

Anything larger than 650nm will do 650nm is red light if you go at longer wavelengths (less frequency) the light passes easier through tissues so optimal would be 650nm<x<950nm monochromatic light. The commercial lasers are 5mW each.
