Does Big Girth Kill Length Gains?

Big girth might make length gains slower because any length gain is adding more volume.

Illustrative example.

Your 7” girth means that if you gain 1” of length and no girth, you added about 3.9 cubic inches of volume.
I started PE just over 4” of girth and gaining 1” of length was adding 1.3 cubic inches of volume at that time.

We both gain an inch, but you had to gain 3 times the volume, add 3 times the tissue.

You’re in UK so you can easily get a cheap IR lamp from Amazon to try it. Yes it only heats the top, bottom or one side at a time, but if it’s on your desk and you are standing in front of it, just heat one side until it’s too hot to take any more, then do the other side, then the top, and keep moving from surface to surface. IR light penetrates extremely well, so when you find you are swapping surfaces very quickly, you know it’s heated deeply.

IR is clean, instant, and you can stretch and jelq while you continue to heat. There are loads of threads on it if you search.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

See this is my main concern. Sounds like you’ve described the big problem here. Because my base is so wide relative to the limited height of my member, it seems like I have gotta do a helluva lot more PEing in order to gain length. In the case of your description, I gotta do it 3 times as much as you would.

It all sounds like with my dimensions, PE won’t work with me :S Sounds like a very straining uphill battle in my case.

Would be nice to see other people here with similar dimensions to me who did make a length gain, or some top of the list expert doctor-type who could examine my measurements and know the actual technique that would push my length up - but not my girth!

Thanks. If this is the most penetrative and unmessy way to heat I’ll check out the most powerful lamps there are. Would be great to keep myself heated too as I do all my exercises, not just heat myself before and after.

Heat + fulcrum stretches / fulcrum hanging.
which means the stretch will be focused on where the fulcrum is.

And BTC hanging to attack only your ligs.

It seems you dont gain with the newbie routine. But its still important to get used to the intensity before you are ready to start advance stuff.

I admit I’m dubious about doing anything to my ligs or fulcrum point of my penis as it attaches itself to my body. I’m bloody nervous that if I do anything too intense or for too long to it the penis tissues would snap! I fear it could do serious damage to my dick if I stretch it too much to where it connects to the rest of me :O

General consensus is normally to start slow, and if you feel pain (actual pain) then stop. I think most people actually injure themselves because they either start off too high/aggressive in weight, tension, etc, or something hurts and they continue to do more.

My bigger worry if I were you would be my base continuing to get thicker — How many girls can actually take those 7” right now vs how many turn away?

Well the good news is it hasn’t happened to any one else. Even people hanging 50 pounds BTC have avoided any snapping or detaching from the body.

So until I get weights or other devices to hang and stretch with, how should I be stretching with my hands now? I normally place a grip below my glans, but if I stretch at the base of my penis what are the best specifc methods of doing this? EG for how long, should I place a 2nd hand grip by my glans at the same time etc.?

I always back off just before I feel an ache, I certainly don’t have the balls to stretch harder and make it ache more. Too scared!

Yeah it’s not really crossed my mind about the base. I’ve measured myself only a few times at my girth base since doing PE but no real growth their either. I don’t want anymore really. But I am told that if I Jelq at a lower erection level then I will get just length gains not girth gains. Not sure how true that is.

2 girls turned me down because of my girth size. Ironic that, as some girls would turn me down because of too little length. :S

You want 150 Watt or as close to that as possible. More than that you’ll be too far from it and heating your whole abdomen possibly risking heatstroke if you have a really long session, less than 150 Watt and you’ll be too close and risking burning your penis on the lamp. :)

Try gripping with an overhand grip near the base, and pushing down toward the ground like a tricep extension. Basically mimicking the angle and attachment point of downward hanging. You should feel it around the base and ligs. I personally turn the wrist as I do it (similar to the downward part of a hammer pound) for a little extra stretch. Variations are to add a second hand that pulls on the shaft/glans adding more downward force. Another variation is to have a semi erection and use the base grip to lightly clamp it off while doing the same downward stretch. This gives you a bit more to hold on to, but may encourage upper shaft girth gains.

Another way to target length without girth is dynamic pumping with a well-fitted cylinder. At 7” girth, a 2.25” cylinder would be a good fit for this. Again though this could encourage upper shaft girth gains. Also I’m speaking entirely from theory and not experience since I started with low girth.

Definitely don’t think of it as impossible though. Think of it as imperceptibly slow, but always increasing. PE is an uphill journey for guys of all sizes. Plenty of guys with big starting girth do get their length gains. From what I’ve read, it seems like they generally go about it in a ‘more is more’ fashion.

Very interesting thread- thanks guys for such great work and discussion.
In the last year I have had enormous girth growth, and I put it down to technique and basically busting my tunica . Hit a bit of a plateau at the moment. Quite possibly due to overtraining and being on my own too much. Partner becoming sexually introverted etc (We’re getting on a bit, and lack of sex drive along with vaginismus, not to mention her housebound daughter never gets the job done.

What I have discovered is that normal stretching and jelquing has never really been high on my list of priorities, or enjoyable, but I do remember my initial forays into PE, being the forcing of my upward erection downwards to hook under my thigh. This did cause huge lig. stretch, and basically unsettled everything to the point it could be reworked. That was a long time ago. Length slowly increased, and you have to remember that the little quarter of an inch you want now, will cement itself 2-4 months down the road. Of course by then you are looking for the next quarter inch and so on. You also have to remember there is a physiological limit to just how fast organic tissue, and just as importantly, nerve tissue, can grow. Now it could be argued that one could reach a point of regeneration exhaustion. So going hard for too long without a break could eventually take it’s toll. I have also noticed that I get my best gains in the months of the Spring season- this could be tied in with physiological influences that we just really do not understand, but every year it’s the same for me.
With regard to girth, I have now achieved very acceptable girth, and sometimes long to test it out on well you know, but that’s not me. I don’t know if my girth and her vaginismus are linked, but I can tell you it’s bloody frustrating.
Over last winter and spring I developed a new girth exercise after reading so many posts on here about the orientation of the fibres in the shaft. Basically I had realised that during my erection process, I had more girth at the beginning- up to 80%, but when full erection occurred, the length went way up, and the girth dropped back around .25- .3” I decided there must be some sort of “dimension sharing” going on between max. length and max. girth, and targeting one will not help the other very much, apart from some sort of natural dropout from the exercises.
I took matters into my own hands and started some brutal manuals going against the normal thought process or techniques I had been using. Firstly, I realised that full compression under low erection lever and extremely high force instantly gave me a shocking girth increase. After a while I caught on that there was more to this than stretching the tunica, it was also about forcing blood in and out of the shaft in ways that it would actually have to - if- it were a bigger unit. Growing into what it would eventually become. The weirdest thing about this was that when under full erection, and no pressure, bingo- and extra half inch length- WTF. So what exactly is going on here? It must be “dimension sharing.”
The next exercise I developed is another brutal manual, and this one IS a little risky. Basically get 80% erection, grab it really hard around the base (till your hand eventually cramps hard,) and with your other hand, with another brutally hard grip, busted my shaft sideways, like a road chicane when viewed from the top. firstly side to side, and if there is still any life, then up and down, and all points along the shaft. At the end of this, both your hands will ache, your cock will go and hide, and it’s game over for the day, but I do suggest some teasing just to get all blood etc renewed in the tissues before you zip up. result, another girth explosion, and yet more length.

SO to sum up- there definitely IS correlation between longitudinal and circumferential fibres, and they DO interact. I will leave the geometrics of this to another more dedicated analyst.

I’ve always been a spurt gainer. It’ll be nothing for months and then it is like I’m a newbie again. When I get a girth growth spurt, I tend to lose length by about 1/4” to 1/2” in normal erection length (7 or 8 out of 10). My stretched flacid remains the same until I get actual length gains, it never goes down.

However, on a rock hard, diamond cutter, I get 95% of that length back, but I don’t lose girth that I notice.

I’m of the thinking that if you are cut, the skin of your dick cannot stretch to accommodate the massive increase in surface area when you gain girth. This creates a pull back or tension effect where your skin is literally trying to pull your dick back into your body. A normal erection simply cannot overcome this. With time, continued exercise, and good morning wood, this skin will eventually stretch so that your actual length can get back to normal.

I think this is why the misconception that girth hinders length gains comes about. If you are working on both, length can seem harder to get, but ultimately it comes around once you stop gaining in girth for a little while.

Interesting comments, Relaxo and Ddiggity. Taking heart from what you’re saying, as I appear to be an easy girth gainer with no length gains so far, but would really like to gain some length eventually.

I can’t quite put my finger on why, but the notion that early girth gains make later length gains harder never seemed quite right to me. But I’ve bit my lip and not said anything. Your comment, Relaxo, puts into words what I’ve been suspecting, and I should probably just continue what is working for me girth-wise. Gains are gains, and if I gain girth now, length should follow.
