I used to know a young gal who could bounce into a full split with no problem. She could also sit back & pull her legs behind her ears (I could start several threads about this wild young freak)…..anyway, she used to stretch daily, and told me that ligaments needed worked frequently.

I’m guessing that the suspensory ligament is probably no different. She used to stretch frequently, intensely & briefly.

So, I”m thinking of doing my full PE workout 3-5 days per week, but stretching everyday…..it worked for her.

I agree with you. I try to stretch 20 minutes on off days, don’t let them sleep, give them work and they will grow, well that’s the idea it’s helping me now.

I agree as well…as would BIB, and DLD. I hang daily 6 days a week I hang 4 hours…(so far) total hang time…day 7 I hang no less than an hour and stretch for about 30 minutes after that. I stretch daily when taking a leak or just lounging around…or, whenever I can find the opportunity.

I definately agree. I have been performing my regular stretch routine on a 5 and 2 basis for the last couple of months but even on week-ends which are scheduled days off I do some light stretching to help maintain.

The suspensory ligs are pretty much the same as any others in your body and the only way to elongate the lig fibers is through constant stretching. This has been proven through medical testing. Also if the lig is under utilized it can shrink.:(

I used to be able to do a full split. If penile suspensory ligs are the same, then there is good and bad news. It is possible to stretch them and get length, but if you stop, they will shrink to the original length. I used to do a full split, but not today, I’m way far from there. That’s why I am kind of wary of stretching the ligs and prefer jelqing. It seems that jelqs will give you permanent gains.

Hey guys & gals….I have been around this board I would say since March, & I will say I have really enjoyed it a great deal….I have been PEing for about 1.5 years & I have made some good gains..so it does work……However before I tell my size, I woul like to get some feedback to see what size it looks & how it lokks actually…then I will say how big & what I have been doing…I hope you think it looks good..her it goes…..Oh no..It will not let me submit the pic & I have it at 640 x 480…help….I have paintshop pro…

I think you are thinking of two different things. Most stretches are not severe enough to permanently distort the connective tissues. In PE, we are after ‘controlled damage’ which does permanently distort connective tissue.

Many atheletes do permanently stretch and deform ligs and tendons, much to their distress. Several techniques have been and are being developed to attempt to tighten up these tissues.

In order to get permanent gains, you will have to distort connective tissue, whether by jelqing, or anything else. The purpose of jelqing is to stretch and grow the tunica, which is a tougher connective tissue than ligs.

That’s right Bib. When I was into heavy weight training, we always strove to keep a certain “tightness” in both the rotator cuffs (for benching & other pressing motions) & the knee joints (for squats). I knew guys who overstretched those areas & became very injury-prone because they lost their joint stability. And even after they quit all stretching exercises, they had already overstretched - & they never returned to normal.
The flexibility needed to do a full split is not the same thing as overstretching the suspensory lig (with splits, you have not only ligaments but also tendon flexibility….it’s quite possible that your tendons became tight again - not the ligs).
