This thread is a perfect example of the inaccuracy of size surveys. (I think that this is the point of the thread?)

More on the upper end report than those towards the middle of the curve.

Doubt it. In most surveys, length is measured in NBP. BP is usually an inch more than NBP, so its about right I think.

Obsession is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated.
