Cool Down - YES You NEED It!

I hang in upward angles so it’s easy for me to wrap a heating pad around the shaft for heat and a bag of frozen peas for the cool down. It’s hard to say though whether or not it’s helped with gains as I’ve seen results with or without heat or a cool down.

I tend to be very consistent with my routine, several daily sets and few days off. I imagine that the cool down may be more beneficial in a lighter, more inconsistent routine where the tissues have more time to heal. Who knows?

I enjoy the therapeutic effects of the cool down though. It really does feel good at the end of my hanging session. I’ll sometimes leave it on for a while after I’ve removed the hanger.

Every little bit helps.

If I were to use this method for girth do you think a clamping session with heat applied followed by a 5 min clamp with a cold compress would be effective?

I have never used heat while clamping but after reading this I think it may allow me to get more girth by softening the tunica.

What do you guys think?

I use heat while clamping. I usually return to room temperature either clamping or jelqing; I have tried applying cold toward the end of a clamping session, but never often enough to form a strong opinion. Try it for a while and report back. :)


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I have definitely noticed that performing a cool down simply by holding my penis in an extended position for 5+ minutes after a workout results in a longer flaccid hang for most of the day.

After reading this thread I have also tried the use of ice.

I do my normal session, warm down then use an ice pack in an extended stretch for 1-2 minutes around the ligs. I then use cold water in a cup to warm down the entire shaft for about 1-2 minutes.

I like the idea this forces the body to pump fresh blood into the area after the workout.

It is certainly a different kind of feeling and one i’m doing 3-4 times a week or after a heavy session.

I don’t know if it will help, but seems worth the effort at the moment.

I’m definitely going to incorporate a cool wet towel whenever I overtrain. I might even start doing it every time if it makes for a quicker recovery time. Usually, I’m a little sore the day after I stretch so right now I’m only stretching hard every other day.

This seems to make sense. This whole gaggle about cool down I think holds some water to it. I noticed when ever I do my routine, then put my cock ring out and go out in the cold outdoors for a little bit, my penis seems to stay a bit fatter for longer periods. I only do pumping and jelqing for my PE routine. I just don’t want to take a cold shower. I don’t feel like taking a cold shower in the middle of freezing cold winters in Colorado. I wish there was a better option. I might get a damp towel and leave it in the refrigerator for the first half of my session, then for the 3rd quarter use no heat, then for the last quarter wrap the cold damp towel around the cylinder. I want to try this now. I’m a really hard gainer, so I need everything possible that would help me with gains. :(

See if your local drugstore has gel ice packs like the ones you use for sprains and strains. They work very well.

some quick questions guys.

I am going to be buying a heater and cooling down following my workout slightly extended, I was thinking of either building an ads to cool down with or perhaps rigging my capn’s wench to accomodate a gel ice pack. Does anyone have experience with anything like this? Is it dangerous to ice while hanging or with an ads er? I was thinking that if it was dangerous there might be less danger with an ads er than with a hanger, any comments about this? Also does anyone have an idea which ads er would be best to build with the intention then rigging it to accommodate an ice pack? Or should I not even be worried about an ice pack if cooling down with a stretcher or hanger?

I apologize if these questions have been brought up before but I was unable to find answers to them

Just wrap the whole ice pack around the ADS and then wrap that with a bandage to keep it together. I wouldn’t recommend icing your penis for more then 2-3minutes at a time though due to the smaller amount of tissue and the greater amount of nerves. I might be wrong but I think the penis has more nerve endings than any other (external) part of the body.

Is it dangerous? Could be I guess, just set the tension less than what you can do warm.
