What concerns me is that I can’t determine which exercise was responsible for causing the darkening effect, and thus which exersise I should avoid in future. All I’ve ever done is high erection jelqs and some stretching. I’m inclined to believe that the former was the culprit, as I foolishly thought, early on, that the red dot effect was a great sign of stimulation and a harbinger of growth. After my jelq workouts my cock would be laden with dots. I suppose it was this that did it - burst capillaries occuring over time, but I would like greater certainty.

The darkness is permanent. It’s been there for 10 months. It certainly isn’t bad. But I’m hesitant about risking further discoloration. Maybe I’ll just stretch and Hang. I only cared for length anyway, but I was influenced by Krowax, my early PE idol, who experienced impressive length gains through erect jelqs.

I think greater effort should be made to warn newbies about the Darkening effect and how best to avoid it. It is a very undesirable side effect, and it should be stressed repeatedly.

Wart remover, but I think acid without the extra garbage in it would be better. See this thread. Peeling the pecker is still experimental but definitely works.

Another possible cause of discoloration from PE is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Google it for more info. Some sources say the darkening is from excessive melanin production; others say hemosiderin. I suppose the exact mechanism doesn’t really matter. All we really care about is avoiding discoloration and getting rid of it when it occurs.

Thanks for being the guinea pig on that Hobby. I’ll most likely give that peeling business a try in the future.

I’m just thrilled to have finally found something that works.

I think there is more concern about discoloration than indicated by the number of threads here. Beginners need to be aware it is a common side effect.

This is a great thread.

Do we have a consensus therefore that girth exercises put us at risk for “Dirty Dick Syndrome”, and that length exercises like hanging and stretching reduce the risk?

I don’t think so.

Discoloration from hanging is pretty common. Even if your wrap and attachment are correct it can still occur at the attachment point. If things aren’t right, temporary bruising and long-lasting discoloration can occur in front of the hanger. Here are Supra’s pics as an example of “not right.”

Stretching often causes some darkening on the head from the high pressure.

I got the beginnings of the “PE band” soon after beginning PE. My routine was stretching and jelqing with only a few easy, one-handed squeezes thrown in. My first patches of real discoloration came from using my homemade Bib. That was mostly on the bottom of my shaft.

Later, the dark band really developed from a couple months of intense squeezes. I was building a lot of pressure under taut skin. I had spots after every session. This soon resulted in dark staining. BTW, I’ve noticed the darkening continues to worsen for a week or two after stopping the aggravating exercise. Maybe it takes that long for all the gunk to rust? I don’t know.

Late last year I gave very extreme EU’s a try. I had done EU’s before, but these were in another league. They beat the hell out of my skin. I mean bad. Little scab/blood clot things were shedding from my circ scar. The middle of my dick got extremely dark, and even the area from the circ scar to the head turned several shades darker.

I don’t know what to advise. Personally, I’m done with “intense” PE. It hasn’t paid off resultwise. All I got was more discoloration.

There is no guarantee that even a simple jelqing/stretching routine won’t cause significant darkening in someone prone to it. Realize it is a possibility. If a guy feels that maintaining a pristine, pretty dick outweighs his desire to enlarge it, perhaps PE isn’t for him.

Getting back to the peeling vs. whitening creams. Why do you think the one worked and the other did not? Peeling will only strip away at the surface layers. But if the damage is more than “skin deep” I would have thought this to be a fruitless endeavour.

Hobby, with all your expierece (and I know you have it from reading many posts that date back a couple years back from here) in PE is there anything we can do to as quickly as possible gain girth without having to resort to extreme uli’s or some of the heavier girth excersizes that result in more discoloration of the penis but still give good girth gains fairly quickly? Or is it inevitable from your expierence that we all must expierence the discolaration if we want to increase our girth by say about a inch or just a inch and a half, like from 5” to 5.5” girth? There must be some way we can avoid this efficiently and optimally so we can get the quickest results with discoloring our dicks the least. At least we know there is a way to treat this problem through your brave work hobby, but there is still much more for us to learn about this subject related to PE.

I think you’ll have to go by trial and error LoveMachine. If I’ve understood what Hobby is saying, there’s really no way of knowing for sure, on an individual basis, which exercise will cause darkening and which will not.
