I think I do get some stretching action out of the New Jelq City jelqs.

Maybe I’ll chill out on the stretches and focus on overhand grip, downward jelqs and compression squeezes occasionally. When I jelq downward, with the overhand OK grip, I definitely can feel the ligs stretching. What to do you think.

Also, this morning my unit ached from the morning wood. Damn, I could have cut glass with it. :D

Paraphrased: It is not the critic who counts: The credit belongs to the man in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, who, at the best, knows the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.

General question for anyone: If you were planning to take a week off and found your PIs tapering almost to nothing by the 5th day, would you get back on PE or wait out the full week?

Say if you had good-ache and great EQ for the first few rest days, and it faded off to your dick just feeling “normal”.

(In my case, I was just taking off a week because that’s what Big Al’s Newbie Routine recommended - after the first 4 weeks.)

In general, though: does an absence of PIs (positive or negative - dick feels just like pre-PE) mean it’s time to end a rest period?

Who’s “Big Al”?

It sounds like you had good EQ and a little ache, right? I say, get back to the TP newbie routine. Was it broke before you tried to “fix it?”

If I am achy, I chill for a day or so. If it feels ok after that, it’s back to work for me.

Big Al - dunno, he posted a pretty detailed routine at lpsg - recommended a week’s break every 4-6 weeks for newbies.

My overall question was “what are the PIs indicating you should get back to PE, after taking time off”: and you’re saying “when you stop experiencing PIs at all and your dick goes back to normal”, right?

Or maybe the idea of a full week off, without having been injured, was just overkill to start with?

I think Sparkyx is better equipped to answer your question. I’m not sure there are any PI’s except, maybe, a “normal” feeling unit. But, it sounds like your EQ was good, (a positive PI), and you just had the “ache”. I think a day or two of rest is best. I also keep an eye on my morning wood. If it is really good, than I know I am doing something right.

For me, my EQ suffers a little bit on the evening of the 2nd and 3rd day of my routine. Again though, in the morning, if my wood is kick ass, I know I haven’t overdone anything. My 2cents.

This morning around 9am I hung 4 sets, around 3pm while I was sitting in a room waiting to see a doctor for my shoulder my unit got that itch really intense for about 5 seconds then not again. Very strange.

PE Goal: 7.5" NBP x 5.8" MSG

Thanks, Acid Jazz. It does make sense that “no PIs” would be the cue to resume PE.

And I think ache was the wrong word, for me - it was more like “had a refreshing jog” than “dropped a hammer on it”.

I’ve never had an unpleasant ache, or an itch - in fact, the “ache” I had felt better than the “nothing in particular” feeling of a “normal” unit - so maybe I’m talking about something different.

“Vigorous, refreshed, worked out feeling”?

Yeah. For me, immediately following my routine, it’s plump, with a longer flaccid hang. Aches and itches come later. :)

I think the soreness/aching is a sign of the tissues being successfully stressed and the itchiness (which comes a day or two after the initial soreness/aching) is a sign of a reparation/healing process. For instance when I stretch the skin on my penis I will get very itchy there after a day or two, but it’s a shallow itch since it’s the skin. I’ve also gotten deep itches at the base when I have worked the ligs good.

I personally treat soreness/aching as a PI just as a longer flaccid hang after the session. This is where I want to continue doing what is working for me and be extra consistent and continue PE rather than stopping and taking a break/rest just when things are starting to happen. To me this is a sign I’m on the right track and should keep doing what I'm doing. I feel to stop at this time would be a waste and might affect my progress negatively.

So, I don’t view soreness/aching as a sign you have DONE things right and need to stop/rest, I think of them as a sign that you are NOW on the right track and need to keep at it. But you can’t push it too far, dull soreness and aching (or itchiness) is not the same as pain. If there is any pain, I back off of course. It’s a fine balance.

Big Al may have been a member here, I can’t remember. He did have a pay site for manual exercises, and I was a member of it. I think it was morepenis dot com.

Well,

I’m on my OFF day today, and every now and them I get a tingle and itch in my urethra and CC’s. It is very consistent right now. Ache and a tired unit by my third of 3 days on, and an obvious healing/rebuilding occurring on my off days.

I actually look forward to the itch on my off days now. :)

Sparky,

For me, it is almost ALWAYS connected to a good two or three days of work, followed by itching/aching on my rest day(s).

Oh, there it is, a little urethra itch as I’m typing.

I would finish out the week. The PIs are mostly the reaction of the smooth muscle, but the full week allows other tissues to “reset” and get ready for more gains…hopefully.

I think that might be good advice for everyone.

I don’t know if any of us can answer that for sure. What I can say is I believe most of the EQ effects are smooth muscle reaction. I also believe that smooth muscle is just part of the equation and maybe the tunica benefits from time off too.

I’ve not seen this question asked, maybe I missed: do you believe the itching/aching is coming from the TA or the smooth muscle? Or both?
