A discourse on Morning Wood

Morning wood - often we use it as one of the indicators for whether we are overdoing it with PE, or whether is something may be wrong with our male circuitry. And for good reason. But I think it isn’t as simple as whether you have an erection in the morning or not.

Morning erections are the tail end of a series of nighttime erections, as many as five per night that can last for 20-30 minutes each. Now, depending on where you wake up during your sleep cycle, you may or may not have an erection. Just recently, I started waking up on less sleep than I had before, by about an hour. My morning wood stopped, and I became worried. However, over the course of time, I noticed that when I half awoke before my alarm, I had a raging hard-on, which actually subsided by the time my alarm “unnaturally” woke me up. There was no issue with my morning wood, I was just waking up at the wrong time in my cycle.

So anyway, just a PSA. If you are worried about morning wood or you stop getting it for a while, it is not necessarily a result of something being wrong. You could just not be waking up at the right time to see it occur.

I think this is very accurate. I’ve been waking up without morning wood for as long as I can remember, but sometimes when I nap I wake up with it, or if I change my sleeping hours like you said. To confirm this, I’ve done the little-paper-wrap-around-the-penis test as night to make sure I’m getting nocturnal erections.

I never seem to have morning wood when my alarm goes off, but if something wakes me up at other times of the night, or I awake early naturally, I frequently have raging wood going on.

Whether I set an alarm or not, I usually awake at the time I decide I’m going to, so obviously my body knows what time it is and how long I’ve been asleep. I think my body has programmed itself to not allow wood to occur at the time it knows I have to get out of bed because I’ve often had to share sleeping space with other guys.

I completely agree Esc. I have had a feeling that this is what was happening to me because all my other PI’s are fine.

I’m assuming this is obvious, but it also has to do with how bad you have to pee. I think when you have to pee and get that hard-on, it doesn’t go down (lose erection) very easily.

I agree with Esc’s post, but I’ll also say that when I am PE-ing right and my EQ is at the top, my boner will wake me up several times a night! There was a time between my 3rd or 4th month in that I had two weeks of crappy sleep because my hard on would be throbbing and I’d wake up because of it. Of course, then it’s difficult to go back to sleep since your laying there imagining how big your cock is going to be some day! :)

Esc, I haven’t been having morning wood for a while and was worried, but this morning I woke up earlier than I normally do and had a crazy hard on. Knowing about it in this way is a great motivator, cool post!

I’ve never liked using morning wood as a PI because it’s so random. Even on decon break without even thinking of PE, it’s hard to get a read on what’s going on or why. Maybe the pee thing has something to do with it but sometimes I wake up dying for a pee with no wood, and others times there is. Maybe the sleep cycles does have something to do with it.

Night/morning wood is kind of like there or not there. When it’s there, things are good with the health of your junk. When it’s not there, something is questionable for sure.


Recognize.

I can’t use morning wood as a pi because I very rarely get it, maybe once every 6-8 weeks if even.

Now I can get extremely rock hard erections at the drop of a hat when needed and I am growing from my pe exertions so I’m not worried whatsoever but for me to use morning wood as a pe progress barometer is just not an option.

I rarely wake up at my normal time with morning wood, but when I am actively consistent with PE (which is infrequent now I am maintaining) then whammo, I wake up because of an iron hard boner. I also wake with a noticeably fuller flaccid on many occasions which I presume to be the remains of a recent nocturnal erection.

I rarely get morning wood, but my willie gets hard on demand, stays hard as long as I want it to and performs just as I want it to, so there’s nothing questionable about it’s health. I think morning wood is a red herring PI, but I do agree that lack of night wood would constitute more than just a negative PI.

I sometimes have concern over the morning wood deal. I am a strange case, I seem to rarely ever awake to morning wood, however at the office I seem to have a woody half the day (literally).

I do not feel I have low test based on my muscle mass and wood throughout the day. I have however been researching estrogen and it’s role in men, believe it or not low estrogen can play a significant role and I have reason to believe my estrogen is low because whenever I have soy or other phytoestrogens my drive goes through the roof.
