a day off ?

I started PE last September. I saw some good initial gains (if anything I was walking around feeling a little bit more meat). But according to theories/opinions/instructions from others, I would do 2 days on/ 1 day off then 3 days on/ 1 day off.

The problem is that I am the type of person that has to have momentum building to keep going. Taking that 1 day off makes it 100x easier for me to not do it the next day, which makes it 1000x easier to not do it the next, and next thing you know I take a break for 4 months.

So my question is, is there anybody out there who has seen gains who hasn’t taken a day off since they started this thing? I imagine i’ll get “forced” days off, but that shouldn’t hurt me as much as a voluntary day off.

Perhaps on the day off, you can pick up another hobby. What I mean by that is keep yourself busy and then that gets “ritualized” in your mind. So If you did the whole week days woth of stuff and had 2 days off, you could read a book on those days. Once you get used to doing anything, it becomes habit. You just need to look at it like Tetris, by putting the shapes in the right spot you’ll do fine.

The way I look at procrastination is this: I am sleeping in bed and really comforatble. Suddenly I wake up cause I have to piss really bad or shit. But it is cold in the house and I don’t have socks on. I say forget about it, cause the bathroom is ice cold. I don’t want to freeze my ass off on the seat or whatever. So, I risk pissing or shitting myself over laziness cause I take my bladder or sphincter for granted. Yup right in my own bed. So why go crazy over the little shit. Just do it like the Nike commercial says.

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

I know DLD has never missed a single day in his PE career, excpet for a PE unrelated injury.

He PE 7 days a week with no days off and he is one of the biggest gainers around.

Everyone is different, some people can drink coffee and be fine, I can smell it from across the room and get sick. Training works the same way. I think you should experiment and see what actually works for you first. if you are the tiny minority that can do all 7 days you are good to go. If you have to rest up, then I think you have to step around the issue of easily getting side-tracked and procrastinating.
