Wouldn't it make more sense NOT to warm up

Wouldn't it make more sense NOT to warm up

I was thinking about the whole microtear idea, and it would seem more reasonable that they would occur when the penis isn’t warmed up, since the tissues aren’t as flexible. I don’t see injuries occurring (at least from manual jelqing and stretching) as long as the exercise intensity is ramped up slowly. Any thoughts on this? Just wondering.

In my humble, yet educated, opinion, the answer is no. Warming up the tissues actually help create the micro tears with less risk of injury.

Think of a bell curve, at the very top of the curve, is the plastic stage where tissues begin to slightly tear (good), go beyond that and you get rupture (bad). The strength of the tissue is more pliable at a warmer temperature.

The best analogy I can think of at this time of day, is to look at a piece of hard plastic, if you try to bend it cold it will more than likely break, but if you warm the plastic up you can now shape it. Same type of thought process with the penile tissue, or other muscles of the body (and no the penis isn’t a muscle). You want to shape it not break it.

Injuries can occur from jelqing and stretching because the jelqer/stretcher is doing it to hard . You are still new to this, be careful so you don’t hurt yourself.

Note: if this post doesn’t make sense, I’ll try when I am a bit more coherent and awake.

I usually say “10 mn of warm up” when I saw a post asking “if 5 minutes of warm up is enough or not” :)

7 x 6 EG is perfect!

Routine : Manual-V-Inverted V-JAI-BTC stretches (alot of stretches :D ). Wet Jelq, Pumping (once a week to maintain my girth)

I do 5 minute warmup before every workout and 5 minute warm down after each one. I believe 10 minutes is to much but that’s just my thoughts. I’d like to find a way to have a good heat source on my unit while doing my workout one that isn’t to hot and doesn’t get in the way.

Current measure ment 8-2-06 EL- 5.5, EG- 5.25, BPEL-6 7/6, BPFSL-7.25

Short term goal EL- 6.0, EG-5.5

Long term goals EL- 7 to 7.5, EG- 5.5 to 6.0

Here’s the deal:

We are working with living tissue.

We are trying to manipulate it and change it’s size and shape WITHOUT harming it’s function (improving function if we can).

In this light, think about physical therapy, where you are trying to rehabilate living tissue. They always warm you up first, usually for 15 - 20 minutes in my experience, before applying gentle, but consistent stresses to achieve the effect they are after. Before you exercise you are supposed to warm-up.

The key here is to work with your body, not battle against it. You want to effect change in the living tissue while keeping it living. The warm-up is undeniably important in that regard.

You really owe it to yourself to warm up . The more intense or demanding the routine the more time spent for warm-up.

I’d say 5 minutes is the barest of minimums and only for a light routine. Personally I recommend 10-20 minutes, and thereafter keeping it warm.

As far as staying warm during the routine itself … it certainly can’t hurt, and it is probably a good idea. Some take little heat breaks, others use a heat lamp (any directional high watt lamp will do - you don’t need UV rays, do you?). For hangers a series of pre-warmed rice socks (or equivalent) can be kept in a thermal cooler and used one after the other. Etc.

But warming up and keeping warm definitely encourages blood flow and keeps tissue pliable.

It’s just a good PE fundamental.

Whether studying sports, music, or anything, really, it is important to practice the fundamentals.

Any questions?

Yes Mr. Happy and anyone else who would like to chime in. How and why is the warm down so important; other than feeling really good after a workout? Thanks

When I warm up in a shower, my penis isn’t fully submerged in water, so when I stretch it, it feels more like a stretch than just pulling a penis. It feels like it stretches more. But I prefer to be safe and warm up with a hot water cloth to fully warm up my penis.

NEW LOG: JUGGLING ACT!

My routine is to do several short sessions throughout the day. I would love the luxury of warming up but there is just no time to do it. I rationalize that even though I don’t warm up, because each session is just two or three minutes, that there is less likelihood of damage. I’ve had the same question as you, Teej, and I’ve wondered if it is actually BETTER to not warm up. I can’t really say because I don’t have a good comparison. But I’ve been doing this (not warming up) for almost 3 1/2 years and I’ve had more than 2 inches growth and I have never damaged myself.
