Why do people stop PE'ing?

I’ve read that a lot of people simply stop PE. This is a big problem for most members of our little community here.

I thought it might be both fun and productive to start a discussion thread on why people do that.

Let’s try and find all potential obstacles and collectively find as much possible solutions so that we help our “penile brothers” here avoid or/and confront the problems that potentially could cause quitting PE.

So, let me start, anyone wishing to add something is most welcome.

Few problems I think could cause this:

1. Loss of motivation

a) Disappointment in results:
- A lot of people come to this forum trying to find an easy solution. They cannot comprehend that PE takes time and dedication, and after not seeing results in first few days, they tend to think this is a fraud.
- By over or under training, people sometimes get discouraged because of zero or even negative results.
- Taking decon break and than restarting all over again can be a kind of a kick in the groin if you lack patience and can cause you to quit.

b) Boredom/loss of interest:
- Some people find doing the 25 minutes newbie routine too long, too boring.
- To few people, this forum helps them discover that having a smaller penis isn’t as big of a deal as they thought, so they just say “why bother”.
- PE usually becomes an obsession to newbies, and people who are prone to obsessions are prone to find new ones before they finish the former ones.

c) Big (and sudden usually) life changes:
- Some events that make you depressed, for example: Death of a loved one, divorce, break-ups, losing a job, losing money etc.
- Some events that make you turn your life around and change your perspective to things, removing PE from the list of priorities.

2. Privacy issues

3. Lack of time

4. Health and injury problems
- And I don’t mean just PE-related ones

So, feel free to donate a piece of your mind in this thread.

Oh, and please, can a moderator move this topic to it’s rightful place? Thanks in advance :)

I agree with all of your reasons, in this case i would only add satisfaction with the reached size. (Of course talking about experienced PErs only)

Was (july 07): 5.25 nbp (5.9 bp)X 4.5

July 10 :6.15 nbp (6.65 bp)X 4.8

Goal: 6.75 nbp (7.1 bp) x 5.1 Final goal : 7.25 nbp x 5.3

Yes, true, but that is for another discussion. These people choose to stop PE, and those I would like to address on the other hand are ones who are somehow “forced” to quit or fall out of the PE world.

Are there any suggestions as how to how to approach this problems? (individually)

I think many people might stop PE because they don’t see results quickly, AND might be afraid of the potential for unknown injury to the penis and/or erection problems as a result.

I have been PEing for a few weeks with jelqing and edging/ballooning. I’m not really “concerned” about gains, as my primary objective is the hardest hard-on possible, and champion ejaculation control. However, I have concerns about tugging away at my tool, and the potential for injury. (I only have one penis, and I like to use it very much, and regularly)

Paraphrased: It is not the critic who counts: The credit belongs to the man in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, who, at the best, knows the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.

Wise words House.
I think people might buy these gizmo’s which say that they can gain like 2 inches in a month or so.
So when they try it and it fails they then don’t trust the rest of PE.

And I think the time factor is a major issue with most people, because we all want to see fast results.
I’ve been doing PE for just over a month and it feels like I have been doing it for 6 so I can see how it might seem like it’s taking too long for someone who has done it for 3 months with minimal gains.

Just my thoughts.

I attribute my 7 month lull in PE over the course of almost 2 years on Thunders to me having a girlfriend.

1. PE made my cock more sensitive, which didn’t help with my premature ejaculation problem.
2. Break up with the girlfriend caused me to be somewhat depressed recently, which made it a lot harder to become aroused and thus PE (going to the bars and gettin’ on all those other hunnies helped with that though :) ).

Thoughts to counter this lack of motivation:
1. Remember: don’t fool yourself, having a big cock does matter. Don’t take my word for it, just listen to the difference in how she screams! Aka dedication pays off.
2. Don’t worry, be happy. I live by that quote. Fretting over anything, albeit even if it’s somewhat important, doesn’t help the situaton.

Improving your life, one pelvic thrust at a time!

I have had a big problem with finding motivation. This is my first visit to the forum in ages and I’m not PEing at the moment. One of my major problems is privacy, due to living in a shared flat, and I also lose enthusiasm thanks to low mood and so on. I’ve had problems with depression, and PE definitely goes out of the window when I’m down. I know that the only way that I’ll be able to sort this out is through establishing a routine, but I’m finding it very difficult to do this where I live, as my housemates keep unpredictable hours which leads to privacy issues. I want to be happy in myself, whatever size my penis is, and I think I focus a lot of my anxieties on my penis size. Strangely, this doesn’t encourage me to exercise, it just makes me more apathetic. Sometimes PE feels pointless, even though I know I saw gains.

The first post had alot of good reasons, the only thing I would like to add that PE is a very complicated thing. There are so many variables. There is all of these concepts like BPEL, NPBEL, expansion, right amount of rest days, over or undertraining, technique while doing the exercise, technical terms like tunica and corpus cavernosum, there is stretching, jelqing, clamping, hanging, O bends, 4 finger squeezes, pumping.. all of these different things.

I taught myself guitar (with the help of online sources and videos), and I wouldn’t say it’s the same but it is very similar. And alot of people don’t like having to learn the theory of these things, they just want the results. For PE, it’s alot of motivation required, then ALOT of reading to get a good knowledge of all of this stuff, and then patience and consistancy. And there is no “PE Teacher” you can hire for yourself to come to your house and teach you. You need to teach yourself. I could imagine people signing up and thinking to themselves “ahh it’s too much trouble, can’t I just strap a weight to the end of my dick?”. And then there is finding the time every day to apply this knowledge onto your penis, and keep consistant. It’s very involved and you have to really want it. If you are having doubts whether PE is all a hoax, or you have very little free time, I could imagine it’s a hard commitment to make. And then there is the privacy issue, because you can’t tell anyone about it and keeping any kind of a secret can be hard work.

I’m on a break from it because of this:

c) Big (and sudden usually) life changes:
- Some events that make you depressed, for example: Death of a loved one, divorce, break-ups, losing a job, losing money etc.
- Some events that make you turn your life around and change your perspective to things, removing PE from the list of priorities.

I’m currently moving..

I don’t want to high jack this thread but part of the reason why Newbies lose interest, is what I said below in my thread called Yet another Newbie routine:

The main reason why many Newbies lose interest after a while is that they are being advised to Kegel. Kegeling in general is not so clearly described in Thunder’s as well as elsewhere, and the formal Thunders definition is to my mind counter-productive. It may produce thick muscles , but long flabby ones (when medium re or totally relaxed). Those of you who went to a low quality gym, will know what I’m talking about.

The pelvic muscles, like any other muscles, can be activated by slow and conscious exercise, moving them in and out, as well as backwards and forwards. When you give it a try for a few days you will discover a surprising amount of possible combinations. When you exercise this way, it will only take a few days before you will experience a very pleasurable glow and feeling of strength. That’s your dick, eager to show his new found potency to the world!

Those you who doubt their progress and consider an early switch to hanging or clamping, please first read that thread! It may save your dick!

Probably for much the same reason that folks end up failing to follow up on their fitness regimens— insufficient pleasure/ pain motivations.

I do my PE as part of my routine of getting ready to go to work.

Cup of tea, microwave the wheat bag, PE, cereal and milk, shit, shave, shower, shove off.

But before all that my waking thought is: Do you want a big cock?

It’s kept me motivated for a month so far.

This has motivated me to stay on track.

I just had emergency surgery take me off PE.

Finally begun << my lil thread

I agree with the guy who said people couldn’t be bothered reading the theory.. I still don’t know half the lingo and have to search it. But I know everything in the newbie routine plus more, just not how to put together a hanger and talk hangers with the boys.

I am also now quite proficient at the newbie routine and am considering how my routine will evolve. I think it’s a good thing that it takes time to read and learn the language and intricacies of PE. That way I won’t rush into inappropriate routine changes. And if I happen to continue with just stretches, jelqs and wrapping for another month it’s certainly not going to be detrimental. As I keep reading all over this site, it’s a marathon not a sprint.

I’d add to #1a: unrealistic expectations. I bet lots of people come in looking for a gain of 2”+ EL and 1” EG in a month- then even if they gain half an inch in that month it’s a disappointment. Or worse yet they just give up after two weeks without gains. I saw a thread recently where a guy complained after gaining “only” 1 inch and he thought there was no way he could gain any more.

I guess the real questions are: how much do you really want a bigger cock and are you willing to put in the time to get it. I mean, lots of guys want 6-pack abs and a 300 pound bench press, but how many are willing to show up at the gym every day and actually work out?

New guys are always asking if they should do 125 wet jelqs per workout or 150. Then you never hear from them again. They just don’t understand that the world’s best routine is useless if you only do it five times.
