Why cant use soap?

I’ve read the post recently and one of them stated soap is a bad choice for jelqing, but why is that? Can someone explaing it to me? Because isnt the point of applying a lubricant to make it slippery? so why cant you use soap? I perform all my jelqing while taking shower so therefor i always use soap.

Because it usually irritates the skin. Although Andrew69 uses soap.

Because soap is harshly alkaline - you will dry the shit out of your skin in the long term.

I guess it may depend on what kind of soap you use, and how sensitive your skin is.
I once tried soap for just a few strokes (< 50) and ended up veeeeery sore. The skin was almost completely gone in spots. (Didn’t stop me jelquing with my regular lubricant, vaseline, though)

Oden — sticks to vaseline

Get a little soap in that there pee hole of yours and you’ll find out why not use soap.

I remember using soap (shampoo actually, but sam thing!) to masturbate with once. Being cut I obviously didn’t think about there being any problem with a sensitive area under the foreskin. But actually, the remainder of my inner foreskin, and my glans both shed their top layer of skin for about a week after that. But what I was left with was really soft and smooth skin!

I think that led me to using moisturiser on my nob once, thinking it would make it nice and soft and smooth but without the skin shedding. It did make it that way again, but the skin shedding still occurred with the moisturiser, which I thought was odd.

Anyway, thats why I don’t use soap to PE with. Soap is ok to wash the area with, but when you’re constantly rubbing the soap into your dick, it irritates the skin, or does what it did to me (actually, has anyone else had a similar experience to mine?). I now only ever use soap/shampoo or moisturiser on my nob when I want a lovely soft-skinned glans! :D

Start: 22 Mar 04: 6.5" BPEL x 4.6" EG & 6" head. As at: 1 Jan 05: 7.5" BPEL x 4.8-4.9" EG & 6.3" head.

Re-re-start!: 6 Feb 17: 6.9" BPEL x 4.9" EG & 5.5" head. As of: 23 Feb 17: 7.0" BPEL x 5.0" EG & 6.0" head.

Ideal: ASAP: 8+" BPEL x 5.5+" EG & 6.5+" head But will continue if the going is good!!

If you’ve been doing this for a while and there are no problems, go for it. I’ve never jelqed with soap, but I’ve masturbated with it and it caused no discomfort to my skin. For most guys it’s too drying.

I have no problems using DOVE, its one hell of a soap and doesn’t irritate your skin. ;)

Actually, conditioner is quite good. Although usage of shampoo and conditioner quite often go together, conditioner is no way as harsh on dick skin as shampoo. I usually use conditioner for wet jelqs because I’m more likely to have that in the shower than lube, because that’s where I do most of my jelqs. I can go at it for ages, rubbing the conditioner deep into the skin with no peeling afterwards.

I’m not sure if Dove would be good for me though. 1/4 moisturising creme… that might lead to flaky skin on my nob! (:

Why do you want to use soap? Buy olive oil or something. It’s cheap and you will jelq forever with one bottle of olive oil :D .

Before PE: NBPEL 5.50" x EG 4.30"

Current: NBPEL 6.50" (BPEL 7.5") x EG 4.6" (head EG 5")

Goal: NBPEL 7.00" x EG 5.25"

With all of that skin shedding, it sounds like you got one hell of a SNAKE! :D

I’ll second that statement.

Being uncut, I have the shiny smooth knob-head skin all the time.
Soap would make it dry and flaky, like constant contact with clothing.

Rifor,

I know what you’re talking about. I also started with soap because the shower is the ideal place. I have rubbed areas raw before while maturbating… no fun during the recovery. Anyhow, I have noticed skin flaking on the head of my penis. Even using lotion, I still see it at times. I figured it is a result of the skin being stretched. As an orthotech, I have seen skin expand to it’s maximum capacity and beyond in response to a fractured bone. This most commonly occurs in the leg. The cells of the skin tissue swell so much that it can no longer stretch. The swelling then compresses the tissue below leading to possible nerve damage. This is called a contracture and is reversible. IT is also why we do not cast a patient immediately after an injury, but rather splint it in a compression style splint to encourage the swelling to pass.

Anyhow, when the skin swells to maximum capacity, it takes on a shiny appearance. It is not uncommon to see blisters (fracture blisters) result from this swelling. While jelqing, jelq gripping, Uli, etc, the individual is causing the penis to swell, ideally past its capacity to encourage permanent stretching. Therfore the dry skin flaking can simply be a result of shedding the old skin. I can not guarantee the validity of this theory, but it makes sense to me. I hope it helps.

I had a problem with dry skin when I first started jelqing. I had been told that many women use coco butter on their stomaches when they get pregnant and it helps the skin stay soft and lessens stretch marks. So I bought some coco butter lotion. Well something in it did not agree with my skin and after a couple of days I had small red areas and eventually had 3 areas all near the glans that had dry skin that would flake off.

That whole problem set me back a couple of weeks. I eventually started using suave lotion, which is waterbased. I have tried both fragrance free and another fruity kind and they both have worked decent for me.

Each person is a little different, but if you are getting dry skin spots try switching out what you are using for lube after letting the skin heal.
