Why cant use soap?

Hey DeafWolf, I can see what you mean and it probably holds true, but the times I used the shampoo and moisturiser I wasn’t jelqing. I think those substances just really dried out my dick skin, which is why I think its so odd, because moisturiser is supposed to do the opposite. I guess even though I’m cut, the remainder of my inner foreskin and glans still have a different type of skin to everywhere else on my body that is still more susceptible to the harsh effects of some substances compared to skin on other parts of my body.

I’ve been using baby oil with aloe from the very start and I’ve had no flaking at all. In fact, it seems to keep my skin very soft and moisturized through out the day or night. I usually apply it while I’m still wet from my shower.

Olive oil is working good for me. Then I finnish up with Curel lotion after taking a shower. But I just switched from soap about 4 days ago, so I’ll see if it stops the flakes. (sounds like a head and shoulders commercial)

As for being cut, I assume you mean circumcised. I was circumcised at birth. As far as skin sensitivity, it’s my penis, and it’s sensitive.

Soap doesn’t irritate anything on me but my eyes- slightly. You can use soap but you may not want to.

Hey guys, soap contains lye, its a acid kind of substance. Soap has small amounts of lye in it but its still acid. It is the worst choice for jelqing, really.

Actually, just the opposite: lye is an alkali, rather than an acid. But it’s also bad for your skin.

Not only is lye alkaline, but it’s not in modern soap at all (only old-style handmade soaps). Modern soaps are technically a form of detergent. And properly made old-style soaps contain only trace amounts of lye, if any.

Holy crap, I sure hope lye isn’t in modern soaps… That stuff is bad news. At least in substantial quantities, such as my shower-drain unclogger.

As Sparky has already said, I have always used soap as my lubricant of choice.

I use Unscented Dove. I have very sensitive skin and Dove is the only soap I can use, for any part of my body.

I forgot to mention I have used baby oil gel a few times while jelqing. It seems to me to be a decent lub for jelqing. The main difference for me between the baby oil and a lotion jelq is the that I can use the lotion anywhere and when I finish I wipe off the extra and rub it in. The baby oil gel is well an oil type and as such you better have a sink and some soap handy when you are done because you will need to wash your hands off a few times to get rid of the residue.

The one thing I like about the baby oil gel vs. the lotion is it is a good lube but not quite as slick so you can do a nice controlled jelq move. Unless you take a shower or clean up real well right after you will smell like a baby’s bottom so if scent is a problem, lotion might be better.

I know what you mean DeafWolf, the entire groin area has sensitive skin (compared to places like the hands, feet, face and even the arms, legs and chest, that are exposed more often than the groin) but I was just referring to the fact that being circumcised means that jelqing with lube/soap means you will undoubtedly get it on the remnants of inner foreskin and the glans, whcih are a different type of skin to the, still very sensitive, skin on the shaft, and it reacts differently. Or at least it does in my case as I’ve already said. For those who are uncircumcised, they don’t necessarily have to get soap/lube under their foreskins when they jelq (if the don’t pull it back for jelqing, that is).

Thats all I meant - the glans/inner foreskin has a different type of skin that reacts differently to soap.

I had an experience two weeks ago.

I had sex with a girl I already had it two months ago, this time we also had a bath in a tub (I don’t know if this is correct as my English is so and so but I think you know what I mean) and we were using I don’t know which kind of soap. Well, after a few days I happened to have some small red spots on my glans and something like when your skin peels because of the first suntan; by the beginning I tought about something like sexual transmitted issue but it didn’t show up two months earlier when we also had sex, then I read about around and found that it could have been the soap to irritate my glans.

What do you think about this?

Now I’m using a special soap and a cream to restore to “original conditions” and it seems to work even if it’s not definitely fix yet after about 4 days

Hmm I dunno I use soap regularly for jelqing. Vaseline stays on too long and won’t even come off after washing it off, and leaves your dick all slippery for hours! But yes normally soap would irritate the skin .. However I’ve come up with a solution! What I do is a get shampoo, and I lather it through my hair till it become all foamy .. Then I take some off put some on my dick, then start jelqing .. I tried it once with normal shampoo not turned all foamy .. And I ended up with a sore flaky cock. But otherwise it is fine. And the cool thing about using shampoo is that it’s so convenient! Every shower time is jelq time~ woo!
