Trying to gain too quick is a sure fire way to injuring yourself. Newbies are continually told here that there is no hurry in PE. Gains take time and patience. Sometimes years!!!! You say you’re beyond the “newbie stage”, but not knowing this very important fact says to me that maybe you aren’t completely?
Have you made any gains? Have the gains stopped? That’s when you know the physical newbie stage is over and you can move on. By paying attention to your PIs.
Also, have you been keeping track of your progress? In my opinion, this is a must. This really tells you when it’s time to move on or not. Having your routine down on paper or here in the forum gives you something to compare notes with.
