## What's the best way to count kegels

I’ve been using the one-one thousand method to tell how many seconds I’ve been holding my kegels, however, when I get up to 20 kegels it gets kind of confusing. When I start 20-one-one thousand, by the time I reach five seconds I think to myself, am I starting my 21 now or my 22nd or 23. Is it easier to count how many you do in a minute period and extrapolate that to figure out how many you would do in a five or ten minute period and then just go by the clock on the wall to estimate how many you’re doing? Or should I just guestimate how many seconds I’m holding the kegel for and just count the number of reps I’m doing?

Use a watch with a second hand, or a digital watch?

I believe it doesn’t really matter about an exact count of how many you do, or how long you hold them, maybe it does, but that’s just me.

I used to haphazardly count to a point and hold for 5-10 seconds, but I now just do them for a specific amount of time, like 5-10 minutes, sometimes I just do them through out the day, like while driving, or watching TV without counting, but I do make sure I do them.

I’d drop the “thousand count”. What works for me is just “One - two three four five, Two - two three four five, Three - two three four five, Four - two three four five, Five - two three four five.” and so on. Just make sure your counting is at a reasonable rate. So, on each rep you say to yourself the # that it is, and then count 2-3-4-5.

Start (11/23/08) - 7.0" x 5.0" BPEL/MSEG

Current - 7.375" x 5.0" BPEL/MSEG

Short-Term Goal - 7.5" x 5.375" BPEL/MSEG

I use a base-ten counting system.

I agree. You should be able to multi-task when doing something like kegels. Can’t do that if you’re counting every one.
