What weights to use when hanging

I’m jelqing and am trying to start hanging using a captain’s wench. I’m not sure what weights are suitable to attach to the wench or how to attach them.

I saw Hanging 101 thread and they mentioned fishing weights and weightlifting type weights with a rope on them.

I have tried using some things around the house like a large jar that I can fill with coins as necessary, however, I have found that whatever I use must be small enough so that the weight doesn’t hit the floor.

What other suggestions do you have?

starting out with about 2.5 lbs will get a feel for things. Also if you have not hanged before it will start some growth, after about 2 or 3 weeks go up to 5lbs…

Thanks. I was more wondering what items would be best to use as weights. Fishing weights?

I was using olympic weight plates.

Olympic style plates (used for weightlifting) are a buck a pound or less. Buy 1 5lb and 2 2.5lbs and you will be set for a while. Use a piece of rope to tie them together as needed. Go to the hardware store and buy an “S” hook to connect from the rope to the wench.

Yeah it’s amazing how creative you will get after a while with your hanging set up. I lime the weights stacked on top of each other so they don’t hang too low. I have a low bed and can still on the edge and they don’t touch the floor ace. Spend some time in a big DIY store and have some fun with it. I’m comfortably at 3kg after a while. Start around 2 pounds. We generally go up too fast but try not to go crazy.

Can I throw a monkey wrench into the mix?

Try using a Bungee cord anchored at crotch level then when you have it stretched to the stress level you want you can twist your hips and do Over the Leg (OTL) stretches to divide and concur those ligs. More gains, same weight.

A bungee provides an infinite amount of flexibility compared to gravity hanging and your stretching Straight Out (SO) rather then just Straight Down (SD).
Also gets rid of the loss of erection angle. Anybody remember the LOT theory?

When I uses the bungee cord method my only gripe was not knowing how much force was being applied. So I put a pull meter that you use for weighing suit cases/ fish etc into the set up. Worked fine.

I can’t say that I can visualize over the leg stretches. Is there a page that explains the whole thing?

How it works is your hooked up with the pull straight out from your penis to the anchor, then you just turn your body to the left or right and then the pull is from the side across your pelvis. Whalla! OTL This stretches the outside of the ligs. Do both sides then go back to SO. You don’t have to stay in the OTL position for a long time, maybe 2 or 3 minutes then twist back to the SO position for 80 or 90% of your hang time. You can vary the time if you wish to anything that seems appropriate.

Guess I need to make video about this.

When it comes to stress level determination what I do is make a calibration chart that shows how much weight creates what length the Bungee is stretched. i.e. 24”=5lbs, 26”=8lbs, etc, etc.

Another thought about Bungee hanging: Put an anchor up at Eye level and you have Straight Up (SU) hanging. Try doing that with dead weights. Twist the hips again and you’ve got a 45deg angle pull. This stretches the ligs outside edges so when the normal stress is SO they give easier.

We can talk about Fulcrums later.

Just remember that when you do these exercises that it is imperative to use an ADS between daily sessions so any trauma is not nullified by the bodies need to heal in a regressive or relaxed state.
