What to do when the feeling of stretching stops

I’ve been doing a manual routine for a long time and recently stopped getting a stretching feeling and ligament pops while stretching. Is it a sign that I should break for a few days to get the stretching feeling back or should I press on? I’m not sure if taking a break for a week will hurt the rhythm I have since I feel that whenever I stop doing routines for a week or more, I should start with the most basic routine again and work up from there.

Any advice is appreciated.

It depends on how long you’ve actually been doing the routine, and other factors such as loss of EQ, persistent soreness, etc.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

Consider hanging weights

If you have gained with your current routine, do not change anything yet. Continue the routine for another month or two to cement the gains you have made, then consider making changes to your routine or taking a deconditioning break. If you want to stick to the same routine but slowly up the intensity (i.e. time or repetitions) then that is also an option.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve been on the current routine steadily for about 4 months. What worries me the most is scarring (?) and having to take an extended deconditioning break. Is it possible to do some light jelqing during the deconditioning break or does it mean absolutely no PE?
