What has changed in PE knowledge over the last 4-6 years

What has changed in PE knowledge over the last 4-6 years

I´ve been a lurker at this place since like 2005, maybe before.

Read most of the newbie routines but as the total lazy fuck that I am I never conducted PE for any decent amount of time, not even a month.

I remember the LOT theory. Is it still given credit to?

Did anything major change during these last five years?

Why on earth did you wait 6 years before joining and starting to PE? :S Things have probably been edited, but all you have to do is read them once again and you’ll notice.

Sorry, there still is no magic pill.

As for LOT theory, on thunders its basically dismissed, but bib still goes by that theory. (on his own site)

I think the benefits of an ADS have become more apparent.

UYN - those are some tremendous gains in such a short time. Congrats. Would you mind sharing some details regarding your routine? I did a search and didn’t find any threats started by you in the Progress or Pics sections. Thanks and keep growing!

Ugh, that should say *threads* in the post above, too late to edit.

As for what has changed, I’ve been gone roughly 3.5 years myself, and since deciding to get back in the game a little more than a week ago, have done a shitload of searching and reading on this site (hours and hours). Unfortunately, can’t say I’ve noticed the emergence of any one thing in particular. You literally find a little of everything… guys who’ve gained two inches just doing manual exercises and those who’ve gained almost nothing doing them, guys who hang/clamp/pump/ADS who’ve gained and swear by either (or a combination thereof) and guys who use these devices and have injured themselves and/or not gained. You have guys that incorporate more rest days than others who’ve seen great gains, and others who PE almost every day and see that working best for them. Conversely, you’ll find those that incorporate plenty of rest and don’t gain, and the everyday PE guys that haven’t gained.

It’s both fascinating and frustrating at the same time. We’re all humans, so one would think there would be commonalities in the way we function that would lead to some symmetry as far as successful routines, but it seems we truly are all different. Your best bet is to search/read a ton, don’t get lazy when you have a question, stay consistent, and be patient. In time, your methods will naturally evolve (fueled by your motivation and desire to get bigger) into something that is unique/specific to you and works best for you.

I think the "newest" bit of information that has changed the way a lot of people do some exercises is the change from doing a "warm-down" to a "cool-down."

Cool Down - YES You NEED It!

I personally warm down when doing stretches but cool down when doing girth exercises.

My journey .... My pics

Start BPEL 6.50" x MSEG 5.00"

Now BPEL 7.625" x MSEG 5.25"

We knew that if you stretched and jelqed it was possible to get bigger over time. Guys were experimenting around with home made hangers and seeing some crazy results. And some of our guys were starting to report in with impressive semi-permanent pumping gains.

That was pretty much the sum total of our knowledge back when I started.

It was like the wild west with every half baked and crazy training approach you could imagine being tried out by at least one guy. Every now and then we would do a volunteer call for newbies and run experiments of routine Vs. routine. Dozens of guys committing to doing a specific training regime for months at a time and report as they went.

That is correct. I do most of my posting at pegym, and thunders is basically my google/library of alexandria. It has absolutely everything I need regarding information on PE. As well as we don’t have to many clampers at pegym. I am a bit uncertain if I am allowed to post a link to my progress log on here, but I do feel it being a bit “sleezy” and a kind of attempt to draw more people over to the other forum. So I will let you do a search for me there if you really want to know. I have the same name as here. As for pics I do have them over at pegym, but you will have to befriend me first.

Thanks for the encouraging words :)
