Air pumping with a gauge is the safest way to pump as you can constantly monitor and control the amount of pressure so you don’t go overboard and cause injury. Plus you get repeatability from workout to workout by using the same pressure or controlling when you want to explore higher pressures.
The Bathmate has no way to monitor the amount of pressure and it is quite easy to use too much and cause various forms of trauma.
