There have been a lot of posts about drinking enough water. I totally agree. Most people walk around dehydrated for most of their lives and end up with health problems. (Arthritis, kidney stones, tendinitis, etc.) Like most things though people tend to over do it. (I can tell you guys are already rolling your eyes) Just hear me out. I learned through mountaineering that the best way to combat high altitude is to drink a lot of water. The danger of this is that you can wash away electrolytes in your system. I experienced this a few times after drinking a ton of water I bonked really bad and didn’t feel better until a buddy gave my an electrolyte replacement.
My dear old dad that is a wilderness EMT says that you need to drink water until you piss copious and clear. Any more and your just running it through. Granted it is really difficult to drink too much water. I think you can overdo it though. If your well hydrated drinking more just doesn’t make a difference. I notice this effect during everyday life. Well hydrated I feel good and have plenty of energy. Over hydrated I don’t quite have the same energy level. Just something to think about.
