Water Pump With Gauge

I’ve used the bathmate x30 off and on for a few years, mostly before I recently started a serious routine. The lack of a gauge really bothers me and the only way I can have the privacy to pump is to continue doing it in the shower/bath.

Can anyone recommend the best solution for a hydro pump with gauge or an air pump I can use with water? I’m pretty unsophisticated and still learning so specific models and detailed advice are very appreciated.

I read about the “brake bleeder” insert but I have no idea what exactly that means or how to put that together. Thanks!

What you have to do is create an air pocket between the water in the cylinder and the pump and the brake bleeder jar does exactly that. This pic shows the brake bleeder water collection jar between the cylinder and the pump. Excess water is collected in the jar while leaving an air pocket on the top of the jar so no water goes into the pump.

(As a note of explanation, a brake bleeder pump set up is designed for bleeding your car brake lines to purge them of air and the brake bleeder jar collects brake fluid so it doesn’t get sucked into the pump during the bleeding process.)

Thanks for the info and pic, gprent! Unfortunately there’s no way I could keep that setup discreet in my current situation. I’ll have to keep looking. I’m frustrated with the lack of gauge on the bathmate.
