Anyone know why the videos open microsoft word and not a media program?

Because you have word set up to handle media files?

I assume you are running MS whatever version. I am going to guess and say that you have something switched as a default reader opener as Word. It happens to me too but I have a string of programs that will try and open something if I am not careful. Infraview trying to open mpegs or audio, Acrobat doing other shit. There should be a select this option with choice of programs with a check box to open it this time and every time coming up if you select the always box.

Damn you Mem. I almost looked like I knew something.

I haven’t used windows for year. Likely you know more than me.

Life is easier on Linux.

It should have a file extension like mpeg or something. If it doesn’t rename it so it does have a file extension like mpeg.

find mpeg and check to see which program is the default.

I have a good suggestion for you. If you are using win98 just right click on the file and try the (open with) menu. In that menu click on the windows media player and you will b able to play all the files. And other thing when you open the windows media player, go to tools, options and select formats tab. When you select this at the right bottom you will see a (select all) button just click it and another when you try to play any video clip you won’t face problems like these.

(Even you are using any windows you can use the option I explained above)
