Vaseline

As a wet jelq lubricant, obviously!

In my opinion, Vaseline isn’t such a good choice; given that some will be absorbed into the skin, I would have thought that long-term use of such a petroleum-based material should be avoided for obvious reasons. Not that I’m actually aware of any direct health risk. In addition, Vaseline isn’t easy to remove afterwards; another factor against the choice.

I use a lanolin-free quality body moisturiser (chock full of topical vitamin E/Aloe Vera too), which gives a nice smooth glide and is progressively absorbed. As absorption takes place, it also has the advantage of providing a gradually decreasing slipperiness and thus a progressively ‘firmer’ stroke over the 15-20 minute sessions I jelq for (apologies for the infinitive, split ;) ).

PS did you know; way back, the Vaseline jar label used say “Vaseline for chaps”. Ahem!

I use vasoline, it works fine. Its not too slippery, I wonder if KY lube would work better?

KY works good, but you must have a bowl of warm water handy to dip your finger tips into as the KY dries out. After the initial KY application, you don’t need any more KY, just a little water now and then.

As gprent said KY is good, but I find that a mixture of lotion (Avon soft and sensual) and babyoil 75/25 mix works good. You get the benifits of a lotion soothing your skin and the remaining baby oil for lubrication. Vaseline is a good lube, but a bitch to remove and it stinks.

Ya seriously, My girl friend even noticed hours later and after a shower. “It seems kinda sticky” She almost thought I had cheated lol. I would use to Ky but the warm water seems like a hassle, once I start getting a good jelq rythum I hate haveing to stop.

Hmm what I do for jelqing is I do about 100 reps at a time and then give it a few shakes before doing 100 more because I can deff feel it being worked, and it’s not like it hurts pretty bad, but it hurts a little (nothing serious whatsoever) but does any one know if doing a continual full on jelq session without stopping at all is better than my way?

Thats what I do, but after the jelqing session I really shake it out, massage it, and warm down.

I like Vaseline but for health reasons I wanna try something else like maybe a good quality olive oil. I hate ky, it dries up on you and gets icky sticky.

Vaseline? Oh God, I don’t think I’d want that on my dick! LOL! It might work for some, but I’ve been using AstroGlide, which is not as messy, cleans up real easy, and I only have to add a drop or two once in awhile (well, I live in Ari-fucking-zona too, dry as hell!) Probably won’t have that problem in a wetter clime.

I would’nt use Vaseline! It will not go away… Here in Norway we’ve got a product called Spenol. It’s cheap and perfect to jelq.

In Romania, the word vaseline means a lubricant made from petrol, used for lubricating engine parts , haha .

Why is vaseline bad for health reasons? It’s true that it is difficult to get rid of.. But KY dries up so fast it’s ridiculous. I need to add water like every 2 minutes.

Yeah, I don’t understand why vaseline is bad for you. I use a vaseline product made for babies…doesn’t seem like vaseline, which has been around for years, would make a product for babies that would cause damage. Also i guess I’m putting a lot of faith in our government in the fact that they protect us from dangerous products. Well anyone who could tell me why this is a bad product to put on you, other than the fact that its difficult to get off, that would be great.

I’m pretty sure he wasn’t demeaning the healthiness of Vaseline, but looking for something with MORE health benefits, like Vitamin E!

I use this product called aquaphor healing ointment for babies. It works great for jelqing and it removes easy with water and a towel.
