Tried to search this but couldn’t find anything. But here is my question.. Does using a different type grip promote different growth when jelqing? I have been doing the overhand grip, mainly because I feel that I get a way better jelq than if I use an underhand grip. I’m wondering if I should mix it up or do whats most comfortable to me?

I feel like I do better if I mix and do both.

For girth:

Concentrate the pressure on the top and bottom of the penis. This is best accomplished with an underhand ok grip. (Thumb on top and forefinger below form a letter C.)

For length:

Squeeze the sides. Use an overhand ok grip. (Thumb and forefinger form an upside-down U.)

There are no grips to directly effect length whilst jelqing, although length is commonly gained from jelqing. As well, my recommendation would be to never put pressure on the top of the penis so you don’t chance damaging your dorsal nerve. If length is your goal then I would concentrate on manual stretching with jelqing supplementing it. It’s your erection level while jelqing that you should pay attention to.

I have been jelqing at around 60-80% erection level. I started one week ago on the Newbie Routine and I want to be as efficient as I can while in the first 3-5 months (without over training of course).

I had completely forgotten about that old thread, Thank you Superstrat. Now to contemplate if doing only underhand grip jelqing would be the way to go, if that theory holds true it would explain why I’m only getting length gains out of all my jelqing.

I found that an overhand grip while jelqing has seemed to work better for me. I get fuller/plumper after a jelq session with this grip. I am also able to get deep into my fat pad (what little I have.lol 7% bodyfat). I am also able to really concentrate on expansion during each jelq. I haven’t read the jelq theory thread yet, but when I get a chance to read it, I think it will make me reconsider switching it up.

I to get a very good expansion and plump and full flaccid out of the overhand grip, but still it has failed to produce any girth gains except the 0.2 I got in my newbie period, and those I credit to improved erections. In my most intense routine I jelqed close to 90% erection with overhand grip, and still got no girth gains. But for a guy who does not stretch and hunts girth all this jelqing has payed of well in length.

That is my main goal aswell.girth. I’m going to stick to the nub routine for few months to see if I make any girth gains before I even consider clamping or pumping.

Just a question: don’t you need to be careful with the underhand grips because of the dorsal nerve running along the top of the penis? I though that jelqing with high intensity (which is recommended for girth) is bad using this type of grip (underhand) because it places significant pressure on this nerve.

I think that there may be some validity to that theory. I have gained about .25’ in length none in girth. But then again I really did not expect to add that much length in they short amount of time I have been doing PE.
