The Magical Search Button

One of the best reasons to join Thunder’s Place as a member is to gain access to

THE MAGICAL SEARCH BUTTON

I thought this might be a great place to share tips on how to use it to full advantage.

So here’s my first tip: Always Use Advanced Search

When you click on the search button, resist the temptation to type something in the box and click go. You will probably get buried in results, most of which are off topic.

Instead, click on Advanced Search and enter the promised land. You’ll be able to customize your search and narrow the criteria to exclude the garbage and find what you are looking for. After you enter your keywords in the box, scroll to the bottom of the and hit the button to return results by posts, not threads. Then you will only see the posts that have to do with your topic - instead of every post in every thread which might have something to do with what you are looking for.

To those that are familiar with the Magical Search Button, what are your favorite search tips?

Thanks for the info man. I get so frustrated when members tell me to do searches to find my answers. When I do, I get so much stuff that’s off the topic I’m looking for. A key word search finds me going through hundreds of posts that have nothing to do with the information I seek, just because they contain a simple word somewhere in the post. This is great to know, because I do have questions sometimes I don’t want to bother asking, especially if they’ve been asked repeatedly.

But then again, I think it’s a good thing for new members to ask repeated questions. It keeps those topics alive and keeps the forum going. Without, there would very rarely be anything to discuss here. And truth to be told, I enjoy getting in on discussions and knowing I may be a help to another member in some way.

Now if only I could learn how to link on this site to other threads and posts to help other members out with their questions? It’s something I just can’t figure out for the life of me. I’ve checked out the instructions and searched numerous threads for answers but am still dead in the water. Where’s the Post ID# located?

Advanced search is cat’s meow. Like you said, the regular search isn’t very helpful.

As of 01/2017 7 1/2" BPEL x 4 7/8" MEG

Dang I’ve been using regular search and go for awhile, this advanced search sounds like the cats ass. Thanks Ernie

I link to other threads and posts by opening another window in my browser, and navigating to the post/thread I want to refer to. Then I highlight the webpage address, and copy/paste it into the post I am composing. The Thunder’s server will identify it as a webpage address in the forum, and parse it like this: Big Gainer Highlights.

As to your other question, the Post ID# is located in the top right corner of every post. The first post in a thread in #1, and they are numbered sequentially in chronological order.

This needs to be a sticky…

Thanks man! I have been torturing myself trying to figure this out and would have never guessed it was so easy. I’m happy I can finally have a link to my progress thread in my signature. I’m also looking forward to helping members out with their questions on their own PE journeys, by showing them the knowledge others have passed along. I truly want to someday be an inspiration to other men here and lead them to the right answers so they can have success also.

I also agree with Dickpushupftw that this thread need to be sticky for members to more easily navigate this site.

Here’s another tip…

How to use “quotes”

When you enter a string of characters into the search box, the computer tries to figure out what it means. If you enter

big dick

The computer thinks you are looking for anything that has both the word big and the word dick somewhere in the text. If you enter

“big dick”

The computer thinks you are only looking for the phrase “big dick”, so it returns posts with just that phrase. So if you are looking for a phrase, use quotes - it eliminates lots of garbage in your search.

I find that Google sometimes works better. Enter: Thunders “Big Dick”.

Start 11/09 BPEL: 5.5", EG: 4.4"

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

Searching specifically for topic titles made the difference for me, yeah. Also as dtwarren1942 mentions, Google can be pretty good too.

Glad the forum is relaxed about topics asking the same question, that said, as sometimes fresh input can really help. (Especially with how PE science changes quickly, seemingly)

I have thousands of posts on the site and they all have my signature line on, which has a link in it on how best to use the search feature!

firegoat is fully RETIRED from Thundersplace.

All injuries happen from "too much", or "too much, too soon" or "doing the exercise incorrectly".

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. The ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth. Basics.... firegoat roll How to use the Search button for best results

Here’s another tip when you aren’t sure of the spelling…

Using the *

To properly speak in Search (as opposed to some other language), you need to realize that sometimes you can’t spell properly, or (perhaps) the fellow that wrote what you are looking for might not know how to spell properly either.

Suppose you want to know what people think about a penis hanger, but you don’t know how it is spelled. Is it bib? Or bibs? Or Bibbs? Or…

If you search for bib, you’ll miss all the others. But if you search for bib*, you’ll be looking for any word that begins with bib, but might be followed by some additional characters.

Similarly, you might know that there’s a guy out there that sells an all-day-stretcher with a name that ends with sleeve. Is it X Sleeve? Or x-sleeve? Or xsleeve? Or…

If you search for sleeve you might find some stuff about it, but you might not. But if you search for *sleeve, you’ll be looking for any word that ends in sleeve, but might be preceded by some additional characters.

For additional reading, one of our foremost experts on The Magical Search Button started a thread several years ago on this topic here: How to use the Search button for best results . Many of these ideas come from that thread.

One more tip, and I’ll call it a day

AND and OR

What does AND and OR mean when you ask The Magical Search Button?

If you are looking for two things, the word and is implied. For example, a search for penis and cock is the same as a search for penis cock.

But suppose you are interested in posts that include either penis or cock or both. Then you want to ask The Magic Search Button for penis or cock.

A few buddies of mine are doing PE and discussing are different experiences and gains outside of here. I’m glad this community exists! More men need top know about PE and how it can help them with not just size concerns but other areas of life.
