Not that I’m trying to hi-jack the thread, but I will anyway. If reverse kegels are just as Matt356 says bladder muscles increasing pressure into the pelvis, does that necessarily mean there’s no benefits to reverse kegels. Reverse kegels are the using the same muscles as when you push and have a bowel movement, correct? And I hate to appear any more gay than I already do, but I’ve had occasions when pushing out during a bowel movement I’ve experienced the beginning of an erection. Not like a sundial at high noon but I’ve had tumescence, a semi if you will.
And in the interest of googling to make sure I wasn’t completely weird, I’ve seen a couple of sites confirming that someone else has had that effect. So taking that phenomenon into account, doesn’t it stand to reason that reverse kegels have some benefits of their own?
Also, in Margot Anand’s book on tantric yoga, The Art of Sexual Ecstasy, she recommends a kegel routine consisting of inhaling while you tighten up for the kegel, holding the kegel for six seconds, then exhaling letting go of the kegel hold and gently bearing down like you’re trying to have a bowel movement.
