The correct way to measure length

I’m not sure about the method I should use for measuring my length..
When I measure from the side of the penis with the ruler, I’m 7.5 inches, when I put the ruler on the penis and not next to it, I’m 6.5.. (Both bp)
Which of the methods above is correct/more accurate?

The only reason for measuring your penis is to find out what size it is so that you can reliably know if your PE is working. So the measurement has to be repeatable.

The most repeatable method is:

For length:

Stand up straight. Have your penis erect and parallel to the floor. Bone press a ruler into the fat pad directly on the centre line of your penis, until it is as close to the pubic bone as you can get it without pain. A wooden ruler is often most comfortable and you can cut the end of the ruler so it has no ‘blank bit’ and starts at zero. Record the measurement.

For girth:

Either use a seamstresses tape measure, or wrap a piece of paper around your penis (either just take a mid shaft measurement, or take a mid, base and glans measurement). Where the paper crosses, mark it with a pencil and hold it against your ruler. Whatever tension you pull the paper to, make sure that is the tension you use every time. Record the measurement.

I think the best way to measure is stood with your back against a wall, your feet shoulder width apart, penis at a 90 degree angle and with the ruler on top and in the middle of the penis. I’ve read hundreds of posts on the best way to measure but ehy rarely if ever take into account things like the width of feet and how striaght one is standing and these things do make a difference and can lead to inconsistent measuring. All variables should be kept the same and for the sake of data collection, for finding out the true average etc, I think a gold standard should be introduced.

All subjects should be :

1.) stood with their back pressed against a wall, to ensure they are as straight as possible.
2.) Feet should be shoulder width apart.
3.) Penis at a 90 degree angle.
4.) Measure from the top side, middle of the penis.
5.) Push down to the public bone, but not so much as to bend the ruler.

By doing these 5 steps every time we measure, we will avoid many inconsistencies. Too often we so comparison photo’s that although the ruler suggests decent gains, things like vein positon etc suggest that no real gains have been made. A small shift in pelvic angle and ruler position can easily add over half an inch.

Wow. I think this is really good advice. Gonna Measure like this from now on.

I’ve had my share of measuring variances that have me pretty confused. I would suggest laying down on your back, making sure the ruler is directly up and turned slightly on the bone. This is very repeatable and takes out pelvic and head position variances.

Also, use only NBP for what you say your size is. If you have an inch or more of fat pad and think this is an unfair way to measure, lose weight.

Reole hi , I agree with cya at 8 the lying down method is the easiest one and one you can’t fudge with really so I would recommend that however if you are after the standard accurate way then go with what firegoat posted that is the accurate way.

Good method overall however comparing to a average I can’t say it is because pretty much most men who do measure standing up don’t do it against a wall just standing straight up and that’s how doctors advise has well , however comparing with other members on this site doing that way then yeah I can agree with that and in whole it does seem to be a good method but might be tricky for some members.

I measure sitting down because if I stand up my EQ isn’t so good. I’d advise others to do the same, I think many people have this same problem. It’s much easier to stay 100% when sitting and yeah if you have a curve, use a cloth tape measure but putting that metal bit into your fat pad can hurt a little. I’ve gotten the technique down perfect though.

If you are sitting, the height of what you sit on, the softness, the angle you sit at etc. will all make your measurements vary. The purpose of measuring is just to see if you have grown, and to be as consistent in results as possible, not to get the largest possible measurement. It’s best to do it once a month (done the same each time, whatever method you adopt).

I think when people first start PE, they will measure without regard to the position they are in, but after a week or so of constantly getting the ruler out ‘just to see’, they have found the best way to measure for them. Many guys get the strongest erections in the position they most often masturbate in, so although sitting is the most variable, if you prefer to sit and always do it exactly the same, and you feel it works for you, then do that. If you prefer to lay on your back or stand, that’s fine too, as long as you are absolutely consistent. I have tried every method and although standing doesn’t give the largest reading, I have always found it by far the most easily replicable and accurate.

I really don’t think it matters how you measure as long as you can repeat it consistently. Also, do not use that maximum possible result as what you say your size is.

On a side note, there would be a market for a device that can take human error out of the equation or atleast limit it. Something that would get the erection angle at 90 degrees and measure BP without using a standard ruler.
