When I started PE I also messed around with Horny Goat Weed and Maca, both as powders. It had a positive EQ effect. “Yey I’m so potent”.

Then I realized a) it’s not natural and better to let the PE increase the EQ, and b) such drugs interfere with the natural feedback mechanism so that overtraining wouldn’t be much noticeble because I’d still have good EQ due to the chemicals in the herbs. So I stopped taking them and have not touched them since.

Some threads here have PE people writing that they take supplements, they say they get better EQ which makes it easier to do “almost erect” jelqs and other techniques. I read about one guy who used the quite potent drug Cialis weekly. That just can’t be healthy in the long run.

(I did play around with Viagra a few times a year ago or two. Even a quarter of one pill was enough to give positive effect. Half pill strong effect. Once I was extremely drunk, popped one pill, and had a huge 100% erection for one hour while making out with a woman… Funny.)

I have also read taoist books saying that such erection enhancing drugs, even though natural herbs, are draining you of Yang energy, and the lack of that was the reason for the poor erection in the first place… that made me wary too.

So what do you think?

I take quite a few supplements primarily for heart health and general health. I also exercise a lot for heart/cardiovascular health and strength.

I think the best thing you can do for great EQ is to focus on a strong body and and healthy cardio system. If you have excellent blood flow through your body and heart, you also have a great blood supply available for your erections.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Did the Horny Goat Weed by itself make a big difference? I was thinking of trying it. How about the Maca by itself? How bad was your EQ to start with?


My current dimensions: flaccid: 8" x 6.5" erect: 9.5" x 7.125" glans: soft length:1.825" soft diameter 1.65" firm length:2.286" firm diameter:1.90"

Goal: flaccid: 9" x 7" (.1" length .5" girth) erect: 10" x 8" ( .5" length 1" girth) glans: soft length: 2.25" soft diameter: 2" firm length: 2.5" firm diameter: 2.25"

Ultimate goal: flaccid: 10" x 8" erect: 11.5" x 9.75" glans: soft length: 2.5" soft diameter: 2.25" firm length: 4" firm diameter: 3" In other words: A big, fat elephant cock!

HGW didn’t seem to do that much, then I added Maca after a week. Then it got better. But to draw conclusions on that is very tricky. The results could be accumulative after a week of HGW, or it was the combination of the two, or it was simply the Maca.

My EQ was not impressive to start with but not a problem either. Average perhaps.

Well, taoism is about balance, not about full Yang. Increasing Yang can be done by meditation in specific ways.

Who here knows whether supplements are actually useful for PE or not? And which ones, if any? I am not talking about just showing off good EQ, but ones that HELP GROWING (in combination with PE training of course, not some magic pills).

Don’t mess with supplements. You don’t need them to get BIG.

I’ll put it this way, the guys who came up with PE probably didn’t have access to PE enhancing herbs and still made gains, plenty have come after them who did it without supplements or viagra, and guys on Thunders Place who live in poor countries and can’t even afford PE equipment have managed to do it without anything but their hands. You don’t need supplements.

You don’t need supplements, but that’s not to say some are beneficial in the short term for EQ, or long term for health. But as a general rule I say give your routine 6 months without supplements and rely on things like diet and sleep, and then after 6 months start introducing them slowly. The reason I say this is because guys tend to make the claim that such and such supplements are making their gains when really it’s sort of a placebo effect where they take a pill and then buckle down on their PE to get the most out of their supplement.

Pay attention to things like red spots, soreness, PIs, etc. each day for six months making changes here and there, then keep it the same for another 6 months only adding time or reps slowly, like 1 rep every PE session. Learn how your body responds to PE first and then start taking supplements.
