Stretching Upwards Causes Turtling

Hello, first time poster and long time lurker here. I’ve been doing PE for 6 months now and gained 1.3 inches (started at 6.7 inches). At pegym someone said I should stretch upwards for better tunica gains. However after stretching upwards I turtle badly for a while. What causes the turtling from upwards stretching, or am I just being delusional? I read the turtling is caused by tightening of the pelvic floor muscles or possibly even nerve damage. Any idea on what causes the turtling effect? Also should I stop stretching upwards as it doesn’t seem to do much.

You may have over worked your unit with that type of stretching. Normally I would do that type of stretch but relaxing my prostate to allow a full stretch. Try not to just quickly yank upwards to maximum stretch, gradually pull up and increase the force slowly and pay attention to how the stretch feels while relaxing your prostate at the same time. I hope you will feel what I’m talking about.

Why is it important to relax the prostate? I do feel my prostate is a bit swollen at times. I don’t want to aggrevate the existing mild problem with the swollen prostate. Does the upward stretching irritate the prostate or what?

If your prostate is swollen at times, I highly recommend things to help with the swelling like at least Saw Palmetto. Base of the DLD Blaster stretch, doing a reverse kegel while pulling allows a different kind of stretch. Like I would get like 0.01 millimetre more in stretch by doing a reverse kegel while stretching. I’m not sure about irritating the prostate due to the stretch but if you are getting that every time you perform that stretch then obviously back off from it.
