Stretching on my off days are ok?

Stretching on my off days are ok?

I made a thread about three weeks ago about a off day stretch routine, but no one replied so I’m making another one. I am curious to know while doing the newbie routine if it is ok to do some stretches on your rest days(no jelqs invoved). On my off days I will usually do manual stretches, I would just like some of the people who have experience or know any better if this is ok. I tried finding off day routines in the search but came up empty.

On my off days I am doing:
5 min rice warm up
Stretch in each direction(left,right,straight out,down and up) one min each direction for 15 mins total
5 min rice sock warm up
10 min BTC Stretch(is split up for rest time)
5 min rice warm up
Maybe edging

Does this seem to be ok? To much, to little?

Think about what you’re actually asking. It’s similar to searching for “how to run without moving legs” or “weightlifting without any weights” :)

On your “day off” you’re doing 15 minutes of warmup, 25 minutes of stretching and some edging? Is it ok? Of course it is, but it’s not really a rest day anymore.

There are a ton of these posts and I must be missing something, but if you’re “working out”, it’s technically not a “day off” anymore, is it? Isn’t the idea of a rest day a day to….rest? Along those lines, I don’t believe it’s ever been determined that rest days are an absolute necessity, if you’re finding you are responding well and want to do routines more often, just do your routine and don’t call it a rest day?

I think the real question you’re asking is, is it ok to not have rest days in your routine, and the answer is if you’re not experiencing any negative PI’s and you have the time and are making gains, then yes it is.
