I know taking a break means no jelqing for sure. I also know that I should see what my body can handle. I’ve been stretching on breaks and it hasn’t bothered me, but I would like to know if anyone else has input?

Whether the purpose of your break is deconditioning or injury, I’d say a good rule of thumb is no PE whatsoever.

However if it is because of injury and you know your body very well, I personally would still be doing stretches as long as I didn’t believe it to be slowing the progression of an injury’s healing. That’s just my $.02 though.

De conditioning, I’ll have to use the spell check for that. I have not been injured yet, but I am an athlete and know what injury is like. I don’t want to be injured. With a muscle, stretching it lightly while it’s injured or during a “non-lifting” period is good. But then again, dicks are tissues, not muscles..

The confusion

With deconditioning (assuming gains are cemented), I consider stretches to be retroactive. You are still loading the tissue forcing them to maintain their current thickness … or at the very least, slowing the rate at which the fibrils become thinner.
