So I learned I have a tough steal cord limiting my length gains. Newbie gains I suspect were just better EQ and getting me to my true size. Gains have come to a halt after 3 months and when stretching Flaccid I can feel the cord along top.

I have started to hang and my logic is to use a lot of heat and attack the cord for the first 10 minutes of a set by using a fulcrum SD; the second half of the set is slightly higher weight hanging SD (no fulcrum). Thought being, if I can loosen the cord first and then hit Ligs I may get a stretch like those without a steal cord.

The fatigue I am getting is insane so far after 20 minutes. 5 lbs during fulcrum and 7.5 lbs SD after for 10 min. I understand what others say about feeling the stretch up into stomach area. I don’t have the time to dedicate this method to more than 1-2 times a week unfortunately as hanging is time consuming, but hopeful.

This is an important thread, the steel cord is a problem for many!

I have not done much hanging so I can’t say for sure this strategy is causing the lig stress. Also I am using heat longer than I had previously when hanging so there are some variables.

I will say, the ache I am experiencing is like nothing I have experienced before.

Thanks for the info. Speaking of aches does anyone else get a kinda tingly itchy kinda feeling a few hours after hanging? Not sure if that’s good or bad.

Haven’t noticed the tingly itchy feeling. I hope this helps me break a plateau, just hard finding the time to hang for 1-1/2 hours.

Yeah I hear you, I get up at 4am to get a 2 1/2 hour work out before work. But its the best time for me.

I’ve been hanging a few years, off and on, few decon breaks trying to get past this sticking point, I think you might be on to something, I’m going to start trying this idea. What tingly, itchy feeling are you referring to?

I had that a few weeks ago and figured that might have meant growth starting.

What kind of gains have you seen over the years? How long have you been stuck?

I’ve only seen 3/8” BPEL gain and 1/4” MSEG, started about 3 yrs ago, I’ve been stuck about 2 years, but I won’t let it beat me.

Recently incorporated 150Watt IR heat lamp and I am very encouraged with what I’m seeing happening, but I have that steel cord that so many on here have also.
