Starting Size And Gains Theory

Starting Size And Gains Theory

One thing that seems to go under the radar that nobody seems to talk about here is how starting size can impact gains. For example, assume two individuals have the same genetics and routine. One is starting at 5 inches and the other at 7 inches. If the guy who has 7 inches gains an inch, it should not be expected for the man who started at 5 to gain the same amount in terms of inches.

Their percentage increase would be the same but since the guy with 5 inches has a smaller unit, the region of his penis that is being stretched and under stress would also be smaller compared to the man who was packing 7 inches (in terms of inches not percentage). So unfortunately, I would conclude that bigger guys should gain an inch before a smaller guy would but as I stated before, their overall percentage increase should be the same. The reason I’m bringing this up isn’t to bring anyone down. I’ve seen many people on this forum become discouraged because they don’t see similar gains to someone else. Just remember to have patience, Rome wasn’t built in a day and your penis won’t be either.

Just a theory.

Yeah, but starting size and rate of gains are completely unrelated and seem to be as much at whimsy of the genetic lottery as anything else. Just as two guys at the same starting size, on the same diet and workout routine may have very different results physique wise. There is simply no correlation.

Yeah didn’t mean for people to necessarily take it as factual just was something that I thought about after sitting in on a muscle growth lecture.

No correlation.

I agree with you. Many people here have started relatively small and gained at a rapid pace. I’m just saying assuming these genetic factors were somehow the same, I’m not sure that two people with different starting sizes would experience the same amount of gains in regards to inches. The size of the area under tension would be different.

I see your point muscles are much different than the structures within the penis but going back to what I said, there is no denying the idea that the total area under tension should be different for two different sized penises that are being stretched.

I tested the database for this years ago. Found that starting size had no significant correlation to absolute gains by volume. In other words, everybody gains on average ~3.5 cubic inches of volume no matter what size they start at. Thus the smaller starting sizes gain more on a percentage basis than larger starting sizes.

Anatomically we’d expect the opposite; the theory should have some merit. I.e. the percentage based gains should be similar, or at least have some correlation. That might still be the case in controlled conditions, it’s just not borne out in the limited, imperfect data that we have on PE. There are probably some biases in the data, most prominent of which is that many guys stop at an ideal size (read as: largest comfortable size) for sex - roughly somewhere between 7x5 and 8x6. So it’s possible that larger starting sizes have greater anatomical potential for absolute gains, but it is also possibly counterbalanced in the data by all starting sizes gravitating toward the same ~20 cubic inch final volume goal.

Also as mentioned there are so many other factors involved, many of them unknown, in the gains rate and overall gains of individual practitioners. The variations from one guy to the next are incredible, and we can’t possibly control for really any of the variables involved in the anonymous survey nature of the site.

So, we don’t know for sure. Medicine will examine it eventually and start to come up with actual answers, probably many decades if not centuries from now.

This is interesting to think about but it makes a lot of sense especially since evidence from the database backs up your claim. Thanks for the response.

No problem. I fished out the thread where I put the data:

Starting Volume vs. Volume Gained
