When I first started the newbie routine, while stretching to the right or left I could feel the cord like ligs on either side. Now after a consist ant 5 day a week routine the ligs seemed to have softened and are not nearly as prominent. I’m assuming this is a sign I am gaining from lig stretch?

Yes, but you just need to continue your routine to cement it. Keep at it and you should continue to see gains.
