Scheduling Advice Please

First - Thanks Thunder for this wonderful and encouraging site!
OK, I am just getting started and will need to try to find time for a routine. I work 12 shifts, 4 days on and 3 off then 3 on and 4 off basically. I have a 15 year old son I get every other weekend and a girl friend (doesn’t know I am doing this). I do not live with my girlfriend, but try to see her as often as I can.
I used a pump about 10 years ago for a little while and got a little length from that experience (about 0.5 inch). I have a Boston pump and Auto-Extender on order and they will hopefully arrive soon.
I know, slow down! I will develop a safe plan of action. I have been reading like crazy and can not seem to get away from this site.

Anyway, any advice on working a routine around everything else going on in a man’s life?

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. (JW)

The Newbie routine is always recommended Even though you have done pumping before,, it is a long time so you need to get your unit prepared for the heavier pumping routine.

The other answer is do it when you can, and when you start pumping do it at low (3 to 4 Hg) and build up from there. It will, perhaps, take a bit longer. But at least you are doing something .

But do not do heavy exercising because you only do it occasionally. That will lead to injury.

The pump I used long ago did not have a gauge so I am new to watching pressure. I am learning more though, can’t stop reading the forums here.

I know how you feel! The more you learn the quicker the gains, as there is an enormous amount of info Here. But don’t be tempted to keep trying different combinations frequently. Work through an exercise and if it doesns’t seem to be doing anything Come back and ask a question. Someone would have had the problem and found a solution. And they are only too willing to share.

I hear ya! It is so hard to find the time. I often have trouble making time for physical fitness with work and trying to be a good dad and husband. Maybe I’ll have to start PEing on my 15 minute work breaks! I’d like to try hanging when I drive. I’m a commuter so there is about 10 hours a week in my car. I’ll be watching this post for ideas. I actually posted a similar post a few minutes ago.

Clamping is a very advanced exercise. As for hanging while driving, check out this thread:Hanging in the car
