I haven’t been PEing for a long time now and I’ve decided to start PE again..

Any suggestions about what my routine should be?

The Newbie Routine is always a good place to (re)start. ;)

I restarted PE a while ago, just went back to the newbie routine.


The Current Goal - BPFL:4.5, BPEL:7, EG:5.5

As of Nov 8, 2008 - FL:3.75, FG:4, BPFL:4, EL:6.25, EG:4.375, BPEL:6.5

I’m also re-starting which seems to be a trend for me because of life but my question is instead of doing the manual stretches stated in the newbie routine could I do the under the leg stretch? Reason being is I seem to for some reason get a better grip and stretch and I would still stretch for the same amount of time.

Getting back into the swing of things is very hard. I applaud your renewed interest in PE because it is the most rewarding physical endeavor a man can engage in (IMO). I too have gotten back and have been very serious about it of late. Perhaps I will start a thread in the Progress section in the future.

The best advice I could give you is to come on here and search a bit, but not too much. If you’ve been around PE for awhile now, you have a certain sense of what to do and don’t need to be bothered with all the newbie questions and repeat articles. Be creative. Think of new things to try. However, keep track of what you like/dislike and somehow record that. It’ll make your workouts in the future much more effective.

I’d think so, yes. I think that stretch is more effective. However, you have to go with how you feel. If it feels like a better stretch that you can do safely, then by all means do it!
