I am restarting after a year lay off, I did about 6-8 months consistently before that. I am taking the less is more approach. My limiting factor is the tunica and would it be advisable to add the V and A stretches into my routine?

I think you should go for the newbie routine and add V and A stretches when gains will stop (well, I know it’s not an original answer, but it’s the best I can give you :) ).
