Hey all.

Yesterday was my first rest day of my routine (I decided to go with 2 days on, 1 day off), and it was a little discouraging. The two days before my night wood, morning wood, and all day wood for that matter were great. Except after a day off, no night wood, no morning wood. I did manage to get an erection this morning (self-initiated) and it was pathetic (I usually have a good sized head, but it still felt flaccid. I don’t quite understand how this happens, maybe it should be another thread. To me, it’s the sign of a wimpy erection.). It wasn’t even that hard and went away in a few seconds. Talk about a terrible feeling.

Anyway, this goes against my previous thoughts, but I still believe strongly in a thread by miltonic24. The basic idea of the thread is that the penis needs to recover before it can grow again, so any work done before the penis has fully recovered from the last PE session is just impeding recovery and slowing growth. This makes a lot of sense to me because the rebuilding of the tissue of the penis is what causes it to grow. I had planned on changing my routine to 1 day on, 1 day off to allow maximum recovery, but I’m having second thoughts based on my own experience.

Any thoughts?

Hmm I have been in a similar positon. Take time off until you get morning wood at least. It’s weird, before PE I got more erections through the day, just random ones, but much much less morning wood and they wern’t as hard (or as big obviously). Jelqing in particular seems to be a bad culprit for this.

What I would say is that there are two side to the rest day camp, and it would include large variations like sleep, eating, masturbation intensity, sex etc etc however just for the record I can see me going the high(er) voulme route after my newbie period. I just think that’s the way my body responds best.


Currently 6.5 NBP 5.5EG.

So would it make sense to start 1 day on, 1 day off? That would allow for more recovery time, but things seem to go better when I don’t take time off. I suppose the bad recovery day could be due to the 2 days in a row before. Any other opinions?

Just stick to a reduced Newbie Routine for a few weeks and allow your penis time to adapt. If you had started any other type of exercise routine, gym, running etc., you would not expect your body to respond the same in the first few weeks as it will in the long-term. PE is the same; you need to give it time and let your penis adjust to it.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

Another thing to consider is the force factor.

An unresponsive penis might be having trouble with the force with which you are jelquing.

If you are brand new to PE it is not uncommon to be a bit gung-ho and jelq the daylights out of it.

“Moderate force” should be thought of in terms of the aggregate force that you are putting on it over the course of total amount you do (200 jelqs in this case).

In other words, your dick has to be responding positively once you’re done with all of them. If it’s getting shy, that means your going too hard.

What you may view as “moderate” force when considering a single jelq on its own could well need to be adjusted downward when the cumulative effect of 200 jelqs 20 minutes later is really taken into account.

It’s not that “less is more” it’s that sometimes enough is enough. ;)

After starting PE, any sign of poor EQ or sloppy erections has been a sure sign of over-training for me.

As above, perhaps reduce force / intensity of workouts and see what happens?

Get some blood flowing into it, if I do a jelq or two, it starts to come on more strongly. I have been Jelqing now for almost two years and have overall gained
Half an inch! Now, some ghimt think that’s much, but to me it’s fantastic! (Not that I that small before starting, but to me it means this stuff works!)

Two, are you doing the right amount of rest & training the little guy?
I found that when I varied my “work-out”, it made all the difference in the world. If I went at it 3 days hard and then thought I could rest it, it didn’t seem to do it for me
BUT, if I go 5 days at a moderate to semi-hard jelqing, then I started to get results. Mind you, I am still wanting to maximize what I’m doing and need to read more of the threads to do so. But I decided when I started this that I would try not to rush things. Just take my time with it. SO.. Take it easy on your friend there!
Ya just gotta have some patience and let Mother Nature make her micro-adjustments rebuilding that there tissue in there.. Good Luck.. :-)

MakeYouScream: make sure you’re doing your kegels. I noticed that when I didn’t kegel as much or as hard for a week my EQ really dropped. Just one more factor to consider!

sidenote: Mr. Happy, don’t take this the wrong way, but I’ve been calling my Penis “Mr. Happy” since the year 2000 (you stole my name!)

If I read your message correctly, you are just starting a 2 day on, 1 day off routine. If this is correct, I can tell you based on personal experience my penis reacts slowly to a new change in my routine. I have learned to be patient through the “lean” times and usually find that I eventually get stronger. But it is good you are cognisant of how your body is reacting to the change in routine. PE work is just like working out in the gym: you have to continue to search for routines that work for you and will make you stronger. Good luck.
