Quitting Masturbating

I’m 34 and at my age if I masturbate and ejaculate my EQ drops like crazy for that day. I think watch your EQ and if it stays high beat away.

Hey man try only jerking once a week it is way easier that way. I tried to quit once and almost went insane. After the 3 week mark it became very difficult. That was probably also because I wasn’t getting any, so you need to take that factor into account

I don’t remember the last time I ejaculated, and avoiding it has been the greatest thing for my sex life and penis health.

Recognize.

It’s hard to actually “quit” masturbation as in for good but I have cut down considerably I used to do it like once every two days but now I do it once every 2 weeks. And yeah if I don’t masturbate for a while I tend to go crazy

Yeah, I’ve tried quitting before. It usually lasts a few hours or maybe a day tops before I fall off the wagon.

Myths about masturbation

Masturbation has been wrongly blamed for a host of human ills, including:

Blindness
Feeble-mindedness
Madness
Physical decrepitude
Sexual perversion
Reduced sexual function
Neurotic disorders.
Masturbation at different life stages

People who masturbate do it because it feels good. Other issues by age group may include:

Babies - infants tend to masturbate as part of general body exploration.

Young children - sexual fantasies don’t usually accompany masturbation at this age. Young children begin to pick up on their parents’ attitudes towards masturbation. If parents react in a mortified way, the child can feel ashamed of their sexual feelings and behaviours.

Teenagers - many teenagers feel nervous or unsure about their developing bodies and sexual feelings. Mixed messages and misinformation about masturbation from parents and peers can increase the anxiety.

Adults - some people believe that masturbation is only appropriate for those without partners, but most people with regular partners continue to masturbate throughout their adult life. The idea that adults who masturbate must be sexually deprived or inadequate is simply not true.

How much is too much?

A common concern, especially among teenagers, is the frequency of masturbation. ‘Normal’ ranges from several times per day, week or month to never masturbating at all. The frequency of masturbation isn’t a problem unless it is linked with an obsessive compulsive disorder, where the same activity must be repeated over and over.

Sexual benefits

Some of the known sexual health benefits of masturbation include:
Solo masturbation is a safe sex practice that carries no risk of sexually transmissible infection and unwanted pregnancy. As part of lovemaking between two people, it is known as ‘mutual masturbation’.
Sexual tension is released. Masturbation allows a person to express their sexuality by themselves and is valuable if, for example, they don’t have a partner or if sex with their partner isn’t available, or if they want to (or have to) abstain from sex for any reason.
Being familiar with your own sexual responses allows you to better communicate your wants and needs to your partner.
Masturbation is a popular treatment for sexual dysfunction; for example, women who don’t orgasm can learn by masturbating. Men who suffer from premature ejaculation can use masturbation to practice control.
Health benefits
Some of the known health benefits of masturbation include:
Eases some of the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome
Relief from menstrual cramps
Muscle relaxation
Helps you to fall asleep
Promotes release of the brain’s opioid-like neurotransmitters (endorphins), which cause feelings of physical and mental well being
Reduces stress
Enhances self-esteem.

Every day or any other day masturbation make my flaccid size smaller. Anybody else with that ‘problem’?

My PE workouts suffer when I masturbate too much. I try to keep it down to once or twice a week. I take sex whenever I can though.

Sometimes, sometimes its the opposite, the penis gets bigger flaccid. But theres alot of things that make sense for flaccid size.

Starting 01/05/2009: BPEL: 15.5 cm (6.1 inches) MSEG: 12.5 cm (4.9 inches)

back then: BPEL: 17.5 cm (6.9 inches) MSEG: 13 cm (5.1 inches)

Now: BPEL: 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) MSEG: 12.7 cm (5.0 inches)

I’d suggest that there’s nothing wrong whatsoever with masturbating. In fact, masturbating without ejaculating is one of the greatest things you can do to bolster your penis health.

Recognize.

I like to think of masturbating as simply jerking your self off to ejaculation, while edging is what is the preferable practice which I definitely do not intend to stop doing. I did masturbate yesterday because I had a raging hard on and couldn’t resist busting a nut.

I’m trying to fully transition from masturbation to edging.

I just went a week and 3 days without ejaculating and PE was making me horny and I would leak pre cum after PE sometimes. Well I might have just avoided a big problem because I started having pain in my prostate area and my left testicle was hurting too. I also had frequent urination and my urethra was burning around the head of penis. I jerked off and still have the prostate full feeling in abdomen so I ended up jerking off 3 times almost back to back and came hard. The feeling was still there the next day but not as bad testicle stopped hurting so I did it again jerked 3 times in the same day again.

Now after 6 ejaculations in 2 days I feel 100% normal and no more pressure in groin, abdomen or testicle pain. I also no longer have frequent urge to pee I normally ejaculate pretty large volumes 6-8ml is average for me. I was wondering if the problems I started having only after 1 week 3 days could be due to the almost constant arousal from PE and edging sessions and not cumming? I have gone much longer with out ejaculating in the past but I never edged or did PE back then. I guess I will have to just jerk off regularly since I am not getting any action at the moment. Anyways sorry to hijack thread I just hope I don’t have more serious issues and this was an isolated event due to not cumming when aroused day after day.
