I’ve felt a warming sensation also. It accompanied the “pumped” feeling after jelqing.

On another note, someone said 20 jelqs was too few? I got the idea from the Linear method which, in a separate post, says:

”- Jelqing: Start from 10- 20 jelqs. At the beginning add for example 10 jelqs about every 3 workout, but there is no need to go over 50- 60 jelqs within the 2 or 3 weeks.
Beyond 50- 60 jelqs add 10- 20 jelqs in a week if necessary. If you seem to gain with a lower amount, then don’t increase the amount until you feel it is necessary.
At the beginning when your workouts are short it is a good idea to do workouts in a shower. It offers brilliant warmup and cleaning possibilities.”

Is there something I am missing?

You are doing what you should do, read, read, read, and try to put it to use.
I started with the NEWBIE ROUTINE BY IUVADADUS, a Moderator Alumni. You can find this under the Newbie Penis Enlargement Routine - Penis Enlargement Manual. It starts off with 10 minutes of 200 3 sec. strokes. I added more Jelqs as I went along and am up to about 400-500 now, using long, SLOW, 3-5 sec. strokes.

I have tried to do the routing in the shower, but find it confining. I like to do my jelq with 1 leg on the seat of a chair (right leg up and left hand jelqing, and left leg up and right hand jelqing) I have no where to put my leg up in the shower, plus I get tired standing. I also use Vaseline and it a job cleaning the shower afterwards. I have not found water based creams good enough to jelq with. I need a good thick lube. Some people like doing it in the shower, but I prefer my chair - plus I can watch TV at the same time. If you are comfortable doing routines, I think you will stick with them longer.
