Question on basic stretches

This is my first post on these forums, though I’ve been following TP for quite some time. Anyway, I had a question on stretching technique (and yes, I’ve researched the hell out of this forum. Several hours a day for the last several days and only found conflicting/anecdotal ideas, but this seems like a very fundamental aspect of doing these stretches).

My question specifically is: when manual stretching, do I hold the skin at the base back with my other hand or just let it pull forward (not necessarily “stretch”) with the rest of the penis? I’m obviously trying to avoid excessive skin stretching and turkey neck, and I’ve read to hold the skin back, but when I do, two things: 1) I feel pretty much only skin stretching at the base and in general, and when I don’t hold it back I feel more internal stretch, and 2) I’ve read from others that stretching that area at the base can actually worsen the problems I’m trying to avoid, though it seems to be widespread that it’s viable to do it (hold the skin back).

Does that make sense? Maybe I’m missing something?

Well, asking me, I do not hold the skin at the base. I am cut as well and turkey neck isn’t a huge issue. Especially for a cut guy while erect. Really, it seems to plague the uncut guys more because their skin is more reluctant to move back when they’re erect.

Is it similar with jelqing, at least for you? I’ve seen so many different opinions on this, from “best” grips to homemade devices to hold skin back (no thanks).

I’d say pretty much the same, yes. My worst turkey neck, which has since resolved pretty much, was when I used to use my extender and the noose attachment. So I’d say, regarding stretches and jelqs, it should be a non issue for you. That’s my best guess based on my experience.

May I ask what resolved the turkey neck? Did you just stop extending and continue your routine, or did you have to do anything in particular to improve it? Just curious, I’m not as worried about it now.

I didn’t do anything special. I simply stopped extending. There really is almost nothing you can do for turkey neck sans surgery. I mean there are skin stretching techniques like ball hanging weights that generate more tissue so there’s more slack that won’t be pulled into a turkey neck formation but…for me all of that wasn’t necessary.

Do both.

Stretching without gripping the base targets the suspensory ligaments (the things that are kinda beneath where the fat pad would be), and stretching while holding the base allows for a direct stretch of the penis or tunica. Both are beneficial for length.


Start - 09/28/16: BPEL: 6.5" MEG: 4.66" (Pumping, Clamping, Cockrings & Stretches)

Current - 11/25/20: BPEL: 7.2" (+.7") MEG: 4.75" (+.09") --- Roughly 1 year of PE and a long hiatus in between.

Girthquest: Short-term Goal: MEG: 5" -- Ultimate Cemented Goal: MEG: 5.25"
