First things first. LOT is a theory, and not everybody believes in it.
Getting hung up on "theory" at this point is counter-productive in my opinion. Worry about the future when you get to the future.
Stick with the newbie routine for a good solid three months and see where it takes you. Warm up, and do your jelqing and your 5 way stretches.
If you run into bumps in the road, ask questions. We will help you.
If standard newbie is too fatiguing, start with linear newbie and ramp up:

I did something similar to that and I gained. Some people respond to that kind of a "less is more" approach.
If it is still working, keep doing the newbie routine. If it isn’t then we will go from there.
You are right about reading the forums, that is great idea. Pretty soon you will figure out which members are the most reliable in their advice and information.
