Pushing blood wrong way through blood vessel during jelq

Pushing blood wrong way through blood vessel during jelq

I’ve just started jelqing as a casual habit, where I shower for 10 minutes, and jelq for 10 minutes after that. I’m currently finding it pretty enjoyable to do without focusing so hard on fast results, though during my sessions, I have found that a vessel is preventing me from jelqing to my fullest potential.

When I jelq, there is a blood vessel on the right of my penis which I push blood through when I start right from the base. When I do this, I can feel the blood being pushed towards one of the valves in the vessel, until in run over the valve and I can jelq freely.

I know from uni that these valves ensure blood flows in the correct direction in the body, and from visiting the injury forum some people with ED have possibly broken these valves, hence finding themselves unable to achieve erection.

I’d like to keep my hard-on potential, funnily enough, so I’m wondering if anyone else has had experience in this, and if so, how do you get around this problem (given I would like to jelq the full length of my penis, and not just the last 70% or so)?

I have never experienced anything like that nor have heard of anyone else experiencing that. I don’t think there are any valves in your penis either. Erections both going up and then going down are a result of smooth muscle fibers contracting or relaxing in the penis and it is not controlled by valves.

Here is an article explaining the mechanics:

The Mechanics Of Erection
As you probably know the penis is made up of spongy erectile tissue contained in three internal chambers called the corpora cavernosa (x 2), and the corpus spongiosum. These chambers are primarily filled with soft tissue composed of smooth muscle fibers and connective tissue, together with sinusoids which fill with blood during erection.

Both erection and the loss of erection are events which are the result of changes in hydraulic pressure due to increased blood flow into the penis and reduced blood flow out of the penis. Erection is due to increased blood pressure caused by relaxation of the smooth muscle fibers of the penis, while loss of erection is primarily related to the contraction of smooth muscle in the erectile bodies.

Guided by both hormones and nervous impulses from the brain, special nerve cells in the penis produce nitric oxide, which has the effect relaxing the smooth muscles in the penile arteries and erectile bodies. As these muscles relax, blood flow into the penis is promoted, and pressure increases, causing tumescence.

As the penis becomes increasingly erect, the tunica albuginea, which is composed primarily of connective tissue with limited elasticity, begins to compress the veins which would normally allow blood to flow out of the penis. Due to this differential in pressure, an erection may not only develop but may be sustained for quite some time, usually coming to an end when the nervous impulses from the brain terminate due to ejaculation or a reduction in sexual arousal.

Sensory stimulation that causes sexual arousal can be physical or emotional, coming from either the body (skin and genitalia), or from the brain in the shape of fantasy, visual impacts, smell. But no matter what the source of stimulation may be, the nerve signals pass along the spinal cord and through special nerves known as nervi erigentes that innervate the penis. These nerve cells release nitric oxide, which causes the smooth muscle fibers of the arteries and corporal bodies of the penis to relax, allowing blood to flow in to the erectile cavities of the penile shaft and glans.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I read your website you linked, but it wasn’t enough to put my concerns to rest. I did a quick Google search, and found this:!-Thats-My-Penis—-Part-2—-Preventing-Blood-Vessel-and-Valve-Damage-During-Penis-Exercising&id=6073980

Specifically, I found the quote:

“Now, what is the importance of these valves? These valves are designed to handle the “normal” amount of blood volume/pressure that your penis was originally constructed to maintain.

Techniques, such as jelqing, are inevitably going to put a strain on these valves (and accompanying blood vessels). Since these valves were not originally designed for the increased amount of pressure that jelqing creates, this can damage and rupture these valves (as well as the blood vessels).

This is the last thing a man wants; as it can leave him with a penis that no longer is able to create or maintain an erection.”

Edit: I have also found a Wikipedia page on one of the major penile vessels, the deep dorsal vein: . Other sources seem to indicate that this vein does indeed contain valves in the penis.

I’m grateful for input from someone far more experienced than myself, but you have to understand my tentativeness; I’m not in a hurry to break my penis for something which is purely superficial :P

A jelq is a gentle in nature; not a massive force. You gently push the blood forward!

Then go easy and be careful around the area you suspect there is a “valve” in. I agree with gprent. I’ve put my dick to hell and back over the last few years with PE and have had no adverse effects on the function of my cock. It’s good to be cautious but sometimes things just get over thought. Bottom line - if you are uncomfortable then stop.

If you can’t get over your metal block that you are hurting yourself, then just stop.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.
